I think it is the genesis of machine learning to program itself as it acquires data from the outside. It will never be alive, but it will probably, if given enough time and investment, to be almost impossible to tell the difference between life and AI.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it culminated, if given enough time, to a machine being able to replicate androids.

From what I’ve seen, ChatGPT and other AI systems seem to be poor at recognizing stupid questions.
They’re letting us play with it to gather demographics.
I’M REFERRING TO THOSE WHO IDENTIFY AS SOMETHING OTHER THAN AMERICANS FIRST. IT TAKES TIME FOR FOREIGN PEOPLE TO ASSIMILATE AS AMERICANS. NEWCOMERS ARE MOST COMFORTABLE (AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SO) IN NEIGHBORHOODS OF THE COUNTRY/CULTURE THAT THEY HAVE JUST LEFT, BUT BY THE 2ND, 3RD AMERICAN GENERATION ASSIMILATION USUALLY OCCURS. LET ME REFER TO THE VENERABLE THEODORE ROOSEVELT ON THIS MATTER:

FROM SOUTH AFRICA WHO WAS RECOMMENDED BY MY MOTHER, AND LOOKED LIKE “MIRACLE MAX”, IN THE PRINCESS BRIDE. HE DIAGNOSED IT IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES IN HIS OFFICE, WITH COMPLETE CONFIDENCE. I KNEW HE WAS AN INSANE QUACK!

This AI is only capable of spitting back what has been put into it. That means it is stuck in an information loop that can not offer unthought of ideas.
