At this juncture it sure seems as if Trump is out for himself only. The loyalty cra* is stupid. This county doesn’t do kings or coronations...

Trump incessant need to attack people is ridiculous as is his silly nicknames..you are shooting yourself in the foot...again. He isn’t “owed” the nomination like he seems to think he is...and at this rate he may not get it. And if he does and campaigns like this he will almost guarantee Democratic win. And I assume nobody wants that...right?????

They'll burn the country to ashes before they let Trump back in. His only chance would be to pick a thoroughly controlled Deep State VP (as he did with Pence in 2016) and I don't think DeSantis is that guy. More likely Nikki Haley.

But I don't think they will take the risk that Trump might listen to his base and refuse to implement any of their globalist demands. They'll back safe and controllable puppet Newsom against Trump, and turn out their ANTIFA/BLM squads again to intimidate the mushy middle classes with the same message they used in 2020: "Vote against Trump and all of this chaos will go away..."

Many people still express approval of Biden's job performance today for this exact reason. They can't point to a single good thing Biden has done, "but at least he calmed down the country."

Trump will never be elected?

I’d heard all that before. Over and over.

> If Trump loses the GOP nomination, he’s not above running as an independent, which would hand the election to the Democrat. <

Like Trump, Teddy Roosevelt was a brash reformer. Teddy ran for president as a third-party candidate in 1912. This handed the election to the disastrous Woodrow Wilson.

Trump would do well to consider that election.

Anybody who thinks the last 2 elections were legitimate only need look at some of the scumbags who ‘won’ recently. The second sign is the J6 Political Prisoners and the mockery of justice they have received. America is acting like a Dictatorship because when a Republic has fake elections it is a Dictatorship.

Sure. It’s truth. But what is to be gained by saying it? Is it supposed to be a warning to Desantis or is Trump just saying his feelings are hurt?

Again, what is to be gained? What’s the angle?

The never Trumpers will simply and quietly vote for someone else like they did in 2020.

If the internet and other means of mass communication existed in 1912, the Bull Moose party would still be ruling the country.

Trump is disloyal to America for assuming anyone owes him anything after his losses in 2020 and 2022.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Trump is disloyal to America, but the idea that Trump or any political candidate is "owed" a single thing by the public, a political party, or another office holder is Hillary 2016 talk, which is loser talk.

We all know Trump won't avoid saying stuff like this, (I won't say can't, because he has shown he can when he wants to) it's been a defining characteristic of his personality for many decades. For some, it's their favorite part of him.

What I would like to see is more from Trump about how he's going to get those votes he didn't get last election than complain about how unfair 2020 was. Ballot harvesting and mail in ballots with organized partisan ballot curing operations are a reality. It will take immense organization and manpower to match it, and that means cooperation with the establishment.

How is he going to secure actual party cooperation so everyone is working together instead of infighting and sabotaging? S###talking your cabinet picks and biggest supporters at every turn isn't going to get you there, and frankly emphasizes the fact that Trump made some stupid personnel decisions that really hurt his administration.

How is he going to acknowledge and improve on the failures of the prior term in office? Trump relied on Fauci and Birx to lock us down for Covid and set the stage for everything that happened afterwards. Trump took credit for the stimmy checks and surge spending that reset budget baselines throughout the government. Trump personally pushed for Pfizer and Moderna to be immunized from lawsuits in operation warp speed to secure their cooperation, and then they repaid him by withholding the first round of vaccines until after the election. A lot of this can be explained and reasonable people will understand and appreciate the insight, but he doesn't explain them, he only doubles down. Over and over.

Yes, I'll still vote for him knowing all this, but there's no way I clap like a trained seal the entire primary and pretend his weaknesses and vulnerabilities aren't weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

“...or is Trump just saying his feelings are hurt?”

You really think that, with all Trump has accomplished in his life, that his feelings can be hurt?

That kind of comment only reveals that you use it as an opportunity to smear Trump.

Or, if you are serious and honest, not very bright.

Trump is a ruthless egotist who is incapable of admitting a mistake.

There once was a man named Isaac Barrow who was a professor at Cambridge University. Professor Barrow gave up his job to assist the career of his best pupil, Isaac Newton. Isaac Barrow was a great man, not a disappointment like Trump.

“Trump would do well to consider that election.”

If Trump doesn’t get the nomination, Trump is still going to need somebody in the White House who will call off the DOJ witch hunts against him and his family. Trump would be insane to run third party and keep the Dems in control of the White House and DaoJ.

Not sure DeSantis was planning to run in 2024. However these kind of statements by Trump could actually prod DeSantis to run.

Yep, expect anti-Trumper Evan McMullen to enter the race again on behalf of Bill Kristol like last time.

"but the voters get to decide who runs for President, not you."

Wrong! The voters get to decide who wins, barring any cheating.

Anyone can run. Even you.

desantis released a statement last week instructing people not to donate money to any organization that claims he’s running for president in 2024...

Trump deserves credit for helping DeSantis get elected. No one has disputed that, despite Trump’s obvious unhappiness and regret about helping him now.

DeSantis was very respectful towards Trump during the campaign, even running an add metaphorically indoctrinating his children into Trumpism.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1YP_zZJFXs

DeSantis also graciously thanked Trump during his inauguration speech.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2018/11/07/ron-desantis-florida-gubernatorial-race-victory-speech-sot-vpx.cnn

Yet, Trump has been mad ever since, out of petty jealousy of DeSantis growing popularity, due to his ever growing list of great accomplishments. And it is that type of behavior, among many other expressively questionable if not sinful things Trump has said or done in the many years since DeSantis was first elected Governor back in 2018, that has likely caused DeSantis to not feel the need to bow before Trump, as he is demanding. My heart has turned against Trump as well, as has the heart of many others, very likely mostly among other Christians, based on reports. You don’t have to dig deep to find the reasons why.

If reports you cite are true, Christians deserve the Brandon installation and lawlessness that follows it..
