Even a liberal media outlet raised questions about DirecTV’s standard of fairness in how it’s treating Newsmax in comparison to the leftist channels distributed on its platform.
Newsweek’s Jan. 26 headline didn’t beat around the bush: “Newsmax Ratings Compared to Vice Raises Questions About DirecTV Fairness.” Newsmax reported after having its signal cut that it was “seeking a fee with a 75% discount to its market value, and compared to fees currently paid by DirecTV, almost all 50 channels below Newsmax in ratings get higher fees.” After propping up DirecTV’s excuse that it didn’t give Newsmax a “carriage fee” due to supposedly low ratings, Newsweek noted Newsmax’s point that the leftist “Vice TV receives full carriage and license fees from DirecTV, despite having an audience of [only] 60,000, according to USTVDB figures.”
Newsweek also noted that TPG Capital, which owns a “30 percent stake in DirecTV” (AT&T owns 70 percent), “made a $450 million investment in Vice in 2017.”

We don’t have cable any more so I can’t check, but do regular cable companies (Comcast, Spectrum, Optimum etc.) offer Newsmax?

No cable… no satellite. Gave that up 10 years ago. You can get whatever you want by streaming at $35.00 per month.
Dump DirecTV. What do you need them for?
Does Vice also stream for free like Newsmax?
.
Newsmax is right behind CNN in the ratings. They may start surpassing them at some point.
Xfinity basic does not offer NewsMax.
I cut off DTV and Dish ages ago. 500 channels of pure crap.

I recently dumped AT&T U-Verse for Xfinity “Fast and Popular TV”
I get 125 TV channels (who has time to watch them?) and 400 MBPS download on the Xfinity Connect Internet. Landline is an additional $30.00.
I bought a TIVO DVR and my own router, so there are some savings there. Still working the “bugs” out it!
OTOH, I am saving about $75.00 a month.
I also have a ROKU device which allows me to watch many streaming shows, movies, etc. etc. We are back to “who has time to watch all this stuff?”
I MUCH prefer to DVR interesting shows and events so I can watch what I really want to watch, not what the channel or network wants me to watch.
Time to make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. #BoycottATT #BoycottDirecTV #RestoreNewsmax #RestoreOANN
List of AT&T Network Carriers
The following is a list of MVNOs that run on the AT&T network. You’ll also see whether they utilize multiple carriers’ towers to provide service, or if they’re strictly an AT&T MVNO
