The under-manned force was unable to set up a defensive perimeter around the building; which is why there is extensive video footage showing Capitol police officers escorting demonstrators into the building.

That makes no sense to me.

Show me video footage of demonstrators over-powering an under-manned police force and physically forcing doors open, and walking UNescorted into the building -- and THEN I might think that this was bad behavior by demonstrators.

As it is, I see tourists being escorted by cops.

After the 2020 election, there had been 2 huge pro-Trump rallies, each drawing about 250,000 people. Both rallies had been totally peaceful on the part of the pro-Trumpers, the only violence came at the end of the rallies when Antifa and BLM terrorists attacked mostly older rallygoers or women and children. There was no reason for Trump to think that his supporters would be involved in any violence.
