The long expected Russian offensive in Ukraine has begun.
The Ukrainian army, egged on by its US controllers, had put most of its resource in the static defense of Bakhmut (Artyomovsk)-Soldedar sector of the eastern front. An insane number of Ukrainian brigades, though many partially depleted, were concentrated on that 50 kilometer long front. This left other sectors nearly empty of Ukrainian troops...
The aim of the Russian thrust in the south will be to take cities like Zaporiziha. The aim is to bring the main transport routes, railways and roads, from west-Ukraine to the front in east Ukraine under Russian artillery fire. This will prevent not only the re-supply for the Ukrainian troops on the eastern front but also their exit from the front line...

It would be a pincer movement against the Ukrainian Eastern Front.

Additional reporting from today on Russian media reporting Russian advances on the southern flank of the Ukrainians.
The Russians have shown they are shit,
Lets wear them down.
It is worth the money.
Maybe everyone will have excrement or worse on their face once this is all over with my friend.
>It would be a pincer movement against the Ukrainian Eastern Front.
Yeah, most of the ground is now freezing. I don’t know what the Russians will do, but I’m guessing the Ukrainians will have a hard time displacing troops from Bakhmut to get through or west of Soledad to stop it.
Once this war is over, if we survive it, the war with China in Taiwan is coming, they say.
We are really building up in the Phillipines.
Possibly “faint” coming from Belarus with all those troops there, drawing more Ukraine troops north. I think a big push will come fro the south. Weather they allow Ukraine to keep Odessa will be interesting.
Another Russian stooge I see. What rights do the Russians have to Ukraine?

Who knows. They might go all three directions at once. I’ve seen videos of Ukrainians ditching Bakhmut from absolute exhaustion due to their commanders sticking them out on a field in a trench for weeks. They’re also strongarming men all the way back in Lviv into conscription, but they’re running into problems as no one is opening their doors.
Just a pointless war that will probably end with 500k men dead that should have been prevented by signing something real instead of Minsk.
another good read from a moA link.

“History
Moon Of Alabama is a political blog founded in 2004. According to its about page, they are an independent and open forum for members of another blog called the Whiskey Bar. Moon Of Alabama states its purpose as “to discuss politics, economics, philosophy and blogger Billmon’s Whiskey Bar writings.” A Daily Kos article describes Blogger Billmon (pseudonym) as one of the earliest and leading guest bloggers of Daily Kos and a self-admitted financial writer working for a big Wall Street firm. “

“’Billmon’ is the pseudonym of an American blogger who wrote commentary on various political and economic issues of the day from a left-wing perspective.[1] His blog is renamed Moon of Alabama.[2]...Billmon was one of the earliest participants at DailyKos whose own blog, Whiskey Bar, came into being in the aftermath of the American invasion of Iraq in the spring of 2003. The actual name of the blog Whiskey Bar is taken”
“Weather they allow Ukraine to keep Odessa will be interesting.”
Can’t see how Russia allows the war to end without liberating Odessa. It certainly wasn’t their intent a year ago, but the Neocons are leaving them with less and less options other than liberating most of Ukraine.
“The Russians going on offense in Ukraine. This attack from the south could also be complemented by one from the north in the days ahead.”
The Neocons are just about out of artillery shells, so not much the Ukrainians can do to stop them. It’s pretty much up to Russia to determine what speed they want to advance.
Not possible. According to Norway they have already lost 600,000 troops. Also, they have been out of munitions since last summer and their economy is in total collapse and Putin is on his deathbed.
“liberating” is an odd choice of words. By that logic perhaps Japan were attempting to ‘liverate’ Pearl Harbor, and France was ‘liverated’ by Nazi invasion.
“liberating” is an odd choice of words.”
I use that term mainly to tweak the Neocon Supporters.
