Trump’s instincts on social security and Medicare are better than almost every other Republican.
Going after these programs is suicide and hurts Republican voters that are working-class and on fixed incomes the most.

I’m on medicare and I think there is some room to trim it. Why should wealthy old people get free groceries as a reward for getting sick, while younger people suffer with huge Obamacare premiums? It’s absurd.
I don’t know why he offers help to these gop cretins.
I liked it better in 2016 when he called out the problems and let everyone but themselves.
We remember all the things he said.
But to offer help, screw those guys.
The answer to Medicare is to cut costs for hospitals and medicine through open transparent bidding. Trump tried to get that started but the GOO establishment, servants of big medicine and big pharma, blocked him.
GOP establishment. Read: McConnell and Ryan, slaves to big business including big pharma and hospital cartels
It’s all campaign fodder by Republicans anyway that they’ll fix it.
Because they paid the taxes/premiums for it all their working lives.
Sorry for the young people’s high Obamacare premiums, but they got what they voted for.
Go after the green energy crap.
Quit sending SS to illegals.
Two undeniable truths:
On our current path social security and Medicare will eventually bankrupt the country.
Any politician who runs on realistic solutions (which can only be reductions of benefits) will be crucified.
What does Medicare have to do with groceries ?
.
Yellen is threatening to not send out SS checks on time per above link.
Cut out the green crap...and we can get the budget in line again.
I am assuming you at least paid taxes toward funding those benefits over the years. As we contemplate cutting back, we are offering unfathomable benefits to hordes who have never contributed a dime to this country. Many of those never will. Cut these out before we cut off the tax payers.
“ On our current path social security and Medicare will eventually bankrupt the country.”
WRONG. The country already spends way more than it brings in. But these two programs aren’t cause of the current deficit/debt. Social security taxes pay for current social security outlays.
What the GOP doesn’t want to cut are the programs that are CURRENTLY bankrupting the country: military, foreign aid, services for immigrants. None of these programs have dedicated funding sources , as SS and Medicare do with the FICA tax. But the GaoP only wants to expand war spending and military budgets, and the GOP does nothing to curb the influx of immigrant and the spending on them
“ realistic solutions …can only be reductions of benefits”
WRONG. Congress could find many ways to fund future shortfalls in SS/Medicare. Start with taxing remittances - money sent out of the country by immigrant. Then go to the list of cuts in govt spending that Trump proposed in his video today. Also, tax billionaire hedge fund owners as Trump called for in the 2016 campaign (he called for ending carried interest loophole). I’d also be ok with raising taxes on corporations that locate their factories overseas. In short there are scads of “realistic” answers to future SS/Medicare financial needs
That is bait dangled by Medicare Advantage plans and plan buyers are actually paying for those groceries, in higher premiums, reduced benefits, restrictions on service providers, etc. Traditional Medicare provides no groceries.
“What does Medicare have to do with groceries ?”
I had an almost-heart-attack due to the Trump vaccine and the cardiologist who briefly treated me registered me with medicare as a heart patient. I never saw him again, but the following year my medicare advantage plan gave me $300 in free groceries.
The answer to your question is medicare should have nothing at all to do with groceries, and that’s why I say it can be trimmed. It has become bloated. My poor boss at work has a $7500 annual deductible before he can get any Obamacare medical benefits at all, while I pay $0 to see the doctor, and used to get free groceries. They took away my groceries after I refused to see the cardiologist any more.
I may be wrong but I think you’re a little confused from watching commercials on tv. I think you’re confusing Medicare Advantage programs being offered by private insurers with the government Medicare program.
No, I am not at all confused. The rules for medicare advantage are set by the government, and they allow free groceries as a reward for illness.
