Health Care Workers Cry Foul on FDA Claiming It Didn’t Prohibit Ivermectin for COVID-19
The Epoch Times ^ | 01/03/2023 | Katie Spence

Dr. Yusuf Saleeby has practiced medicine for more than 30 years. He serves patients in South Carolina and until recently had never faced an investigation from his state medical board.

But after Saleeby started prescribing ivermectin to his patients, he was reported to the board, which opened an investigation, despite the state’s attorney general’s promise that his office wouldn’t prosecute doctors who prescribed off-label medications.

Jennifer Wright, a nurse practitioner and clinical director who practices in Florida, but can prescribe across state lines, told The Epoch Times she received a letter from the Office of the Attorney General of New York ordering her not to prescribe ivermectin.

“You know, basically threatened me. If I don’t stop prescribing, then they’re going to fine me,” Wright said about the letter, which threatened legal action with fines of up to $5,000 per violation.

The letter stated that the Food and Drug Administration only authorized ivermectin for use in humans when treating “parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea.”

Both were taken with zinc to add to efficacy

Both of the drugs are ionophores. Ionophores help carry the zinc into the cells where it can neutralize the virus. Ivermectin also has antiviral properties that HCQ does not, but I believe the working theory is that it's the zinc that does most of the job but it needs an ionophore carrier to get through the cell. If that theory is correct, then either Ivermectin or HCQ (and other agents) would work but like most medications each person may respond better to one over the other.

State Licensing Boards have very broad authority to regulate the practice of medicine, much broader than the FDA. The CDC has no authority over medical practice.

Although you can prescribe any (licensed) drug for any purpose you believe it to be useful for, you can’t do wrong things.

If you believe Nexium treats breast cancer, and 20 patients you give it to all die from breast cancer, you are going to have a problem with your license.

But the Boards have to play fair. “Respectable minority” opinion is usually enough to make them happy.

I have eczema and found that Ivermectin worked well (I had some bootleg for covid)

I got my doctor to prescribe it for eczema but of course the insurance company denied my scrip.

Tractor Supply comes through.

They have certain authorities in which they abused their discretion. Heck, the Governor of Nevada ordered all of the state’s stockpile of HCQ to be held inside a prison so it couldn’t be accessed. The establishment was up to something really bizarre that in my mind could only be nefarious. There was virtually zero risk in allowing people access to these medications. Both are extremely safe and widely used for decades and for Covid-19, would only be used for a maximum of 2 weeks. In most cases just a few days.

I took ivermectin and had delta for A DAY. it (and 50mg zinc, vitamin D3/k2, quercetin) worked miracles.

I was only on ivermectin for about three or four days, IIRC, and my healthcare provider then put me on HCQ. He felt that I would have a quicker response with HCQ and indeed I did. I was covid free several days after that (using a home test). As you said, with medications your mileage may vary. BTW, to avoid questions by my regular chain pharmacy, he sent the prescriptions to an independent pharmacy in the next town over.

We had HCQ +/- azithromycin on our standard orders from February 2020-June 2020.

Never had a problem getting it or giving it. Treated approximately 200 people.

Most central Africa countries dispense ivermectin regularly to prevent and treat river blindness. Here's a comparison of how the populations of these countries fared against COVID-19 compared to neighboring countries which did not dispense ivermectin:

Your information about the use of ivermectin in Africa is wrong.

I could not get it no matter what I tried. I bought from overseas, skirting the laws. I received 2 out of 3 shipments. Losing one shipment as the government confiscated the funds, and I assumed the process to get the money back was a way to get me to openly admit to a crime. All 3 of us old codgers lived though. 61 to 96. All got sick, all survived.

For a while yhe orders we had coming from a big name pet products company kept arriving in rough shape, ripped, opened, crappy tape jobs.

We wondered if someone was going through boxes looking for horse paste.

We talked to folks we know who use the same company and they were seeing the same thing.

Glad you made it out of your coma. It must have been a heck of a head injury to be comatose since March 2020.
