I suspect most Russian adults don’t own stock.

Russian oil will eventually get sold even if you believe in Biden’s EV dream

Almost all Russian buildings are still standing.

Russian doctors and nurses are still treating the sick.

Life is more than common stock.

Ukraine is conducting the war and we are helping them just like Lafayette helped us.

“You need to respect others rights to hold their own viewpoint.”

Yup. While I would agree it’s nothing more than a proxy war with the primary beneficiaries being the arms industry, there’s no need for namecalling.
I think one of the most telling points on the whole thing is how no bad news about Ukraine is allowed to be get past the censors, all you’ll get in the media are tales of astonishing - and against all likelihood - overwhelming total victories.

This is what happened in Makiivka. It appears a large group of troops were inside enjoying Putin’s New Year’s speech. The were sitting above a basement filled with ammunition when hit by several HIMARS. The massive ammunition explosion started by a HIMAR brought down the whole building. Some 60 were reported dead, but digging out was by no means finished. One estimate I saw said about 200 dead and at least another 200 to 300 injured. There was a lot of military equipment next to the building which was also totally destroyed.

Ukraine is also receiving much international support.

“I heard that three Brazilian soldiers were killed.”

True, but not before they killed 674 million Russians a la the brave Ukrainian fighters of Snake Island who were killed in courageous battle shouting, as their last words, defiant obscenities at the Russians.

I called my market guru to give him your bad (good) news. He wanted to know if this was for the whole war, or the past week, or one day? Please let us know.

Yeah… but does Russia have thousands of Affirmative Action doctors practicing there. See, you can’t have everything. ;-)

I try to limit myself to just dismissing stories of this nature as embellishments, at best. But I don’t care much about attacking people personally, saying things I wouldn’t say in real life to someone.

But I do tend toward some smartazz remarks on topics, otherwise. :)

I think they misunderstood. It was six hungry soldiers, not six hundred soldiers.

“I think they misunderstood. It was six hungry soldiers, not six hundred soldiers.”

I blame the fog of war for the miscommunication. Also bad cellphone coverage. “Dubronskyyy? Can you hear me now?”
