I picked the “hardest” ASVAB job in the USAF.
Only 2 women and 2 blacks in the entire career field when I was in. Small AFSC as well.
I work in electrical distribution design now, which is extremely white male as well.
It’s just far easier to work with one’s “own kind” and not worry about what you do or say...
I’m glad I grew up in a time where the best players made the team, the best of those were starters, the smartest kids got the scholarships and the most valuable, knowledgeable and hard working employees got the raises and promotions.
And if you didn’t qualify you worked harder to improve.
What a concept right?
Sad that it’s quickly becoming a lost way of life in this country.
