He is an alumnus of my university, and would come back a couple times a year to do clinics and guest conduct.
Been under his baton many times. Really cool guy. He inspired several of my classmates to join the Air Force Band.
Kidding!
Unfortunately, I am musically challenged. However, I have a nephew who made it on the Voice. He turned one chair - Blake Shelton's.
I used to live in Mathis Manor (NCO Quarters) on Bolling AFB.
Many of the people in it were with the USAF Band. The guy that shared the bathroom (between every two rooms) with me would play his dang violin in the middle of the night. Kept waking me up! I got a box fan from the BX and kept it on high speed.
Thankfully, got married and moved out.
