A US State Department study on the prison found that it was infested with rats and maggots while due to low staff numbers, the inmates were only allowed out of their cells for 30 minutes a week.
One section of the study reads: 'Many cells also lacked running water, and in those cells, inmates removed human waste by bucket.'
It continued: 'Sanitation was a general problem, with cells infested with rats, maggots and insects. Ventilation was also a general problem. Prisoners in maximum security had access to sanitary facilities only one hour a day and used slop buckets as toilets.'
Another section said: 'Prison inmates complained about the lack of beds and bedding. As a result, inmates developed bedsores from lying on the bare ground.'
While a study done years previously described the prison as 'harsh' and 'primitive.' There are a total of seven housing units in the prison, including maximum security, female and central intake.
Throughout the prison, minors are sharing cells with adult prisoners.

“I’ll talk! I’ll talk!
Setting the stage, perhaps?
Well he’s not fit for humanity either, so we’re all good?
And Bankman-Fried, with all his celebrated philanthropy never thought to look for other ways to spend his millions rather than on crooked politicians, vacations, multiple mansions, and luxury goods. He could have lobbied for better prison conditions in the Bahamas (where he had recently purchased dozens of homes). He could have worked with at-risk youth to guide them away from activities that would lead to imprisonment. If he had, maybe he would now have better accommodations, with few rats and roommates.
But no, he decided instead to criminally enrich his and his parents coffers and join the criminal cabal we currently call “politicians”.
I have no sympathy.
That’s a shame.
“Setting the stage, perhaps?”
Yes, for an “Epstein special.”
So sad too bad.
Maybe we can send him some money?
What sort of cryptocurrency does he accept?
[Setting the stage, perhaps?]
Gee. Surely nothing can go wrong.
I mean, like, that could prevent the world from finding out significant facts.
The poor boy won't be able to play even such an ancient video game in prison.
Tsk…tsk…tsk!
Trying to cheer up the bilked investors? Good on you. I’m sure they are despondent about now. Shame he can’t eat the rats, being a vegan and all. Excuse me while I go have a good cry. /s
Aren’t his best friends RATS and maggots?
Not really. Some of them belong in the same cell with him.
Yeah, I feel for him, but I can't reach him.
Well said. Bump!
