Elon Musk shared some stats and details about Twitter recently, including teasing the idea of compensation for video content on the platform, similar to YouTube.
Musk tweeted that his newly acquired social media platform added 1.6 million active users daily in the past week, reaching another all-time high. The new owner and CEO of Twitter is trying to improve the platform with an increasingly small number of employees over the past few weeks.
He also teased that Twitter would compensate video creators for their quality videos higher than YouTube. The hint reveals Elon Musk’s future plans for Twitter. The Tesla CEO also stated that written content could be monetized on Twitter as well.

Are they going to start allowing long videos? Right now I believe they only allow very short clips.
Yup! And not only will we get much longer videos but much longer posts will be coming.
I guess that leaves you out.
Both on the "quality" and the "creator" aspect.
I reckon you'll still be scrounging leftover chicken out the dumpster behind KFC.
The streamer war started with rumble and youtube. Twitter marches in like it is poland summmer of 1940, but these reds have power and billions. Conservatives get your ring lights turned on, prep the edit bay, it is on!
Twitter v Google... let the throw down begin
True, though, I have not seen nor witnessed Rumble censoring videos, yet.
I like Rumble but they are still focused mostly on podcasts talking about politics. That doesn't appeal to me. I need a place where I can watch music videos, how-to videos and things like documentaries, vintage movies, etc.
Twitter is in a great position to become a competitor in short time. If they are adding 1.6 million new users a day, that's pretty amazing.
Take THAT google!
Rumble ended up as a conservative oasis because they were in the right place at the right time.
I’m starting to see other videos show up on Rumble. Encourage the YT channels you watch to start uploading on Rumble.
You tubes “algorithm “ is absolute krap. I like to have background noise while working and sleeping, but if anything remotely political in any way is selected, if you allow it to autoplay it will every single time eventually find its way to Robert Jordan. Not just a random video once in a while, but once one gets in it will queue up every video ever made by him for the next 24 hours straight. Nothing that I ever intentionally click on ever autoplays, ever. Even on non political subjects, if I click on a channel that literally has thousands of videos, rather than randomly shuffle through them, they go straight to three or four different videos and repeat then adnauseum. I miss the early days of youtube where autoplay introduced me to all sorts of different channels discussing different topics with different viewpoints. Does rumble have autoplay? I haven’t seen one.

Turning Twitter into a Tik Tok alternative...
I wish Musk would make another search engine, one that isn’t censored like Google.
As much as I dislike u-toob for their politics I absolutely despise twit for the way they organize, advertise and display their videos. I’m always gratified when FReepers post links to the same video that they found at an alternate location.
. . . not to mention Youtube has begun running two negrophiliac ads before every video.
I have learned how to do all sorts of home repairs on YouTube.
I learned how to fix the cracks in my plaster ceilings in my house by watching videos.
A buddy was telling me just yesterday how he learned how to repair old clocks by watching YouTube. It is his main retirement hobby.
Virtually, any car repair has a video on YouTube.
I changed the head gasket on my 1999 John Deere lawn tractor after watching a YouTube video.
Recently, I have been watching old Dire Straits and Stevie Ray Vaughn concert videos.
Every morning I watch Gutfelds and Tucker’s monolog. Tomorrow morning I will watch the highlights(lowlights) of the Pat’s MNF game from tonight.
