Unlike Archie Bell and the Drells, this tighten-up is about The Federal Reserve tightening-up its monetary policy.
On December 31, 2021, the US Treasury yield curve (10Y-2Y) stood at +77.4 basis points, generally a good omen.
Then markets woke up. And not in a woke way.
As The Fed tightens to tamp down on inflation in 2022, we are seeing a pattern. The US Treasury 10Y=2Y yield curve has sunk to -82 basis points, a -206% decline.
In addition to the inversion of the US Treasury yield curve we have witnessed M2 Money growth declining -90%, the S&P 50) index down -17.5%, Bitcoin down -64.2% and gold down only -2.3%.
But we now have to worry about Project Cedar, a seemingly innocent project to replace the US Dollar. A new digital currency would allow Washington DC to monitor your purchases and behavior. And perhaps create a Social Credit Score like in China measuring how well you conform to Bidenโs notion of a utopian, green society.
And the US yield curve has been inverted for 109 straight days.

That is almost impossible to get one's head around.
Digital Dollar will soon be here to save the Fed ,LOL
Yep. Try to get your money out of the bank and into hard assets. We have.
Why not? ๐
Awesome choice. I always wanted a Challenger Scat Pack. Maybe some day.
My wife and I went to an auction in Vegas and got cars for ourselves this fall; a 2009 Infiniti G37S convertible, and a 2010 BMW 128i, respectively. Both are in excellent condition, which is good because we drove them 1200 miles home. Got such a smoking deal on the Beemer, that it was $3900 below the lowest state valuation. Had to pay use tax on the higher number :(.
Might as well not keep cash. We're blowing the kids' inheritance, and having fun.
That’s A really sweet car. I had a Dodge Shelby turbo charger back in the 80’s but it didn’t hold up well.
My last sports car was a 1985 Mercedes 240d euro with 5 spd manual. I ran Yokahamas on the back and Pirellis on the front. I had it painted lacquer black with red pinstripes. Every guy in Atlanta wanted to buy that car off me. In fact one day at the gas station this guy walked over and asked me if the back seat was still loose. I asked how he knew that and he said his brother used to own it but sold it to go in the military.
My hard asset now is a Honda CRV. ๐
The 6.4 is beaut, which is why I like the Scat Pack. It’s the sweet spot for hemi performance and practicality, IMHO. I like N/A engines anyway over forced induction.
The convertible is the heaviest G37, due to all the structural stiffening, but it still handles great. That 3.7, shared with the Z-car, is a wonder. Not a ton of torque down low, but the 7-speed automatic gets you into power so fast, you won’t care. Overall, it’s a great grand tourer, which is how the Missus will use it.
A local dealer listed a GT350R for $300K ($230K over list) for the longest time. Don’t know what happened with it. I was surprised Ford let them do it. It’s a great car, but not that great.
Was this thread about politics, or something? I forget.
That’s what I’m afraid of.......how will they mess this up?
