A libertarian is basically a Democrat minus the virtue signaling.
“A libertarian is basically a Democrat minus the virtue signaling.”
Oddly enough, I have heard that libertatisns were Republicans who smoked weed.
Maybe 20 years ago. But all of the "Ron Paul Libertarians" have since become Republicans.
Today's Libertarians are basically male trannies concerned with legalizing prostitution, child porn, and removing age of consent laws.
Spoilers they are. Succeed I hope they will not.
Former Marine Shane Hazel got 28,000 votes running for governor in 2022.
Poofter LGBTQ guy Chase Oliver got 81,000 votes running for Senate in 2022.
Amazing how "popular" Georgia Libertarian Senate candidates are, especially when there are seats up for grabs...
This is only four elections over two years in one state. Comparing how Libertarians actually vote nationally over time would show if this is atypical. Let's be honest, the Libertarian party, apart from sincere libertarians, is a joke. A flaky party will have flaky voting.
The shifts in both 2020 and 2022 were enough to keep the Republican Senate candidate from winning outright - and just enough to keep people from asking questions...
Why be so obvious cheating Democrat votes, when you can cheat some Libertarian votes instead and spoil the GOP side?
The libertarians claim to be for lower taxes, but most of them will throw that away for whatever socially liberal policy is on the table at the time.
So where are the Liberatarians when Big Tech, the FBI and Justice Department are being used by the Democrat Party to snuff out free speech? Crickets. Discusting!
Libertarian candidates get some “supporter/true believer” votes, plus a tranch of protest votes from people disgusted with the uniparty alternatives. I couldn’t prove it, but my guess is that a given State’s “true believer/supporter” Libertarian vote percentage hovers around a consistent baseline across offices and election years, while the protest votes cast for Libertarian candidates fluctuates in relation to how disgusting the mainstream candidates are, how important the particular race is perceived to be, and the general public mood.
At this point they are rat tools and often funded by the Dems. On the other hand they were a factor when the rats cheating was to a lesser degree so the Libertarian 2-3% would tip elections. No longer the case. As we saw in AZ the cheat range is now much bigger.
When I was in IL it was common for the majority party to move votes from 3d party candidates into the column of the majority party. This bwas true of both Harold Washington party and LP. In 1998 LP actually had a primary. Solid LP membrs I personally know were committed to an LP contender but shown that they voted in a major party and not the LP.
Now I am in GA. Has IL sent other things to GA?
I have seen possibilities. But not much proof.
Hazel 2020, 2022 is not fishy. Many LP voters admired the way Kemp had a back bone to stand up to Trump.
As Trump voters we need to face and understand reality.
