merica is about to learn that what liberals actually mean when they claim to support “separation of church and state” is they want to use the power of government to silence those who disagree with them on same-sex marriage.
For years, liberals have perverted the meaning of Thomas Jefferson’s “absolute wall of separation” for keeping the state out of the church to keeping those in the church who uphold the Bible’s definition of marriage out of the public square.
The occasion for this teachable moment is the “Respect for Marriage Act” now before the Senate. Democrats claim the proposal is required to make same-sex marriage legal nationwide, even though the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision in 2015 did precisely that.
The House passed a similar bill last summer, so there are some differences between the two chambers’ versions that will have to be ironed out, but that will happen quickly and President Joe Biden will sign the measure into the law.
A dozen Republican senators voted with all of the Democrats to advance the proposal. Had this dozen GOP lawmakers voted against advancing the bill, it would still be tied up in the Senate, with an excellent chance of not going any further before the 118th Congress convenes. There’s no guarantee, however, that the new Republican-controlled House of Representatives would block the proposal.
There are two elements here that command attention. The first element is seen in a Washington Post news analysis by staff writer Aaron Blake that reveals one of the most important and fundamental divides in American politics.
The same-sex marriage bill, according to Blake, asks lawmakers “to codify state and federal recognition of a right that the Supreme Court has ruled already exists.” In other words, the rights of every individual American citizen are defined by law, as

Nov. 8th would have been a good place to start.
This is pretty much a done deal when you have people like Thom Tillis, who helped craft the marriage amendment in NC pushing homosexual unions like he thought of them.
The worst part, imho, is the attempt in law to demand no dissent. The so-called “protections” are easily swept aside fig leaves and will be meaningless.
I despise these people with every bone I have...
"The telescreen recieved and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it; moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live - did live, from habit that became instinct - in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized. |
I'd say that REPENT! might be a good place to start.
Congress should pass a law to outlaw Satanism.
hmmm...bakers and cake makers religious beliefs were upheld in court cases so the Dem/liberals answer to that is to codify gayness to neuter the courts?

So they want their cake and to make us eat it, too.
But isn’t that just faith without works?
Repentance is a work.
God help us.
Did you miss the word start?
“Why should he?” ask over 63 million never vocalized mouths.
Murder of babies by the millions....
I still point to Genesis 18 where God allowed Abraham to bargain with him that it was not right for God to slaughter all the people of the city when good people who had nothing to do with the evil ones would be killed along with the evil ones. Then amounts of 50, 45, and 40 were down to what if there were 10 good people there. (Bible doesn’t say they located the 10, however).
Commentary summary: Then God rains sulfur and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah and all the Plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground (Genesis 19:24–25). Lot and his two daughters are saved, but his wife disregards the angels’ warning, looks back, and is turned into a pillar of salt.
I still believe it is not right for all of the good people in America to be punished with the Democrats, Black Lives Matter supporters, Communists and Socialists and their supporters when God punishes and then destroys them. We good people (yes, imperfect and sinners but trying to be good) should be spared. Just my opinion and prayer.
“Good people” were killed and carried off when God allowed the Assyrians and the Babylonians to conquer the kingdom of Israel.
Evil rulers can lead to evil consequences for both the heads of state AND their subjects.
True. I shouldn’t have started something, especially while not on the Religion forum-—or even there.
My chain of thought leads to a deeply depressing and cynical ending.
I’ll try to accept that we are in a fallen world after the expulsion from Eden and no promise was made of paradise on earth and bad people often will flourish and live long lives here. No one is allowed to know the answers to many things during this life.
In one Jewish commentary a woman responds to a question about a tragedy to an innocent person by saying “In this world there are no answers; in the World to Come there are no questions.”
Wow! That would be epic! I think it would make an awesome movie. You should pitch it to someone like Dinesh or James Wood.
I don’t know what we need to do. I think we all are just tired and out of ideas. Voting is getting us nowhere.
It’s obvious our country is going to eventually split up into liberal and conservative regions. The United States is not longer united on any issues. None at all. It will not be an amicable divorce. The deep state will fight it since they know all wealth will soon be concentrated in the conservatives states. They will go after firearms, all in the name of safety, of course.
It is not going to end pretty.
