Dallas has explained time and time again that this is not meant to be a word for word retelling of the bible. He seems to be doing everything he can to keep it a faithful artistic depiction if what may have been going on between the lines of the written words. He has a priest, an evangelical pastor and a messianic rabbi advising him.
I am Catholic and there have been a few things that don’t mesh 100% with my beliefs, but overall it is a wonderful, faithful, wholesome look at the life of Christ. I don’t feel pressured to change my beliefs, and I think I am gaining so much by watching, as would any Christian.
He does have some people who happen to be Mormans helping with production, (I believe a lot of the outside set is a Morman facility) but there is not a stich of Mormon content in the story.
I saw it today at the theater. The episodes were on par with the last season, and things are starting to get real. We got some deeper insight into some of the back stories and emotional stresses on the characters. I enjoyed seeing it on the big screen, but I’m also quite happy to watch it on the app. This is a fundraiser that I’m happy to participate in.
And no, that wasn’t me already getting weepy during the song preview. 🙂

I’m trying to get people to see the real Christ. 350 million people have given money to the Mormons. Please don’t tell me I wrong without watching, I pray the Holy Spirit will show all on this thread the and get you away from your feelings.
Look forward to getting to the details of the discussion about the events portrayed in Episode 1&2 of Season 3.
So many questions/points to discuss. Let’s all agree to use the Bible as the final authority as to what we KNOW to be 100% true and what might be artistic liberty/license needed to produce a TV show.
So far I see many scenes that are plausible but not word for word scripture so long as we all agree that The BIBLE not the TV show is the final authority
