Yeah but see, the ‘Rats can pass the bill before the new Congress is in session, slow joe will sign it into law, and that’ll induce a lot of chest-thumping among the rank and file for a few weeks. Then Trump sues on the basis that this law is unconstitutional (which it is for the reason that you stated and probably a few others), the Supremes rightfully strike it down, and then the ‘Rats get to run in 2024 against a kangaroo court that protected the Bad Orange Man. And half the country will buy that because of either genuine or willful ignorance.
