Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed support for Rep. Kevin McCarthy's bid for House speaker . Greene criticized the possibility of fellow conservative Republicans challenging McCarthy . "Well, I actually think that's a bad strategy," she said on Monday.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday expressed support for Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's bid for House speaker as rumors swirl about the Republican conference's hard-line conservative wing mounting a challenge against him.
"Well, I actually think that's a bad strategy when we're looking at having a very, razor-thin majority, with potentially 219. We're talking about one vote," Greene said on Steve Bannon's "War Room" podcast about reports of House Freedom Caucus Republicans, such as Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, considering challenging McCarthy.
Midterm results are still trickling in, though Republicans appear on track to control the House. McCarthy, widely seen as the frontrunner for the top post, needs 218 votes to earn the speakership come January 3, 2023, when the new Congress begins. But, under a likely narrow majority, McCarthy would need to win over almost every Republican, including members of the influential House Freedom Caucus, to become speaker.
"It's very, very risky right now to produce a leadership challenge, especially for speaker of the House," Greene said, warning that some moderate Republicans could join Democrats and propose outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming as speaker. Cheney, a staunch critic of former President Donald Trump, lost her reelection, but could technically become House speaker if she receives enough votes, though such a move is uncommon.

Remember -- this was the guy who swore up and down in early 2021 that he had sufficient GOP votes in the House to dump Liz Cheney from her senior leadership post in the House Republican Caucus. When the vote was held behind closed doors, she was re-elected by a wide margin.
Keeping Kevin doesn't help her agenda or mine.

Matt Gaetz strongly alluded to that on War Room tonight. Something like, “I don’t know what he promised her.”
I’m not a fan of MTG, but that being said, this sounds to me like she may have been offered some committee positions she really wanted. And if that is the case, perhaps she can do more if she has more power.
That’s right. McCarthy has said he doesn’t want to hold impeachment hearings for Biden.

I just meant since Trump is a McCarthy guy then the folks who are down on MTG should really be down on Trump.
The Don has entertained Kev at home. And supports him for speaker.
Until demographics is discussed, and the thought of Heritage Americans being replaced rapidly by illegal aliens, refugees, H1-B1 and green card holders and other assorted 3rd-world losers who have no fealty to our Constitution - all orchestrated by the Jewish lobby - then it doesn’t matter who wins Congress or who runs in 2024

You know who else fell in line with the GOPe? Trump. He endorsed McCarthy for Speaker just a few days ago.
(Let’s see how fast everyone attacking MTG for this changes their tune...)
The race for Speaker happens in advance. Pelosi was challenged before, it didn’t mean a Republican Speaker.
That’s all correct.
Like I said in another post, I do not anticipate anyone in the GOP voting against the nominee.
