It appeared two weeks ago Johnson was going to win by a at least a semi-comfortable margin. He ended up winning by 1%.
Toward the end of the campaign, the Dems pulled out their "Senator X is going to cut Social Security and Medicare!". As usual, it worked, and they almost got Johnson. This may also explain how they were able to trim their expected losses nationwide.
