Everyone who won last night (whether they cheated or not) were put in their high place by God, for His own purposes. Even the ‘challenged’ big guy in Pennsylvania. Only God knows the reason why, but I suspect that it won’t take that long for us to figure it out. God is in control, although we all feel like we want to help Him along sometimes. (IMHO)

Passage of Scripture I was led to after reading BlackFemaleArmyColonel's eloquent and succinct summation of where we are in time. We are slaves to Christ and bought with a price.

You who are slaves must submit to your masters with all respect. Do what they tell you—not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are cruel. For God is pleased when, conscious of His will, you patiently endure unjust treatment. Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.

For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in His steps. (1 Peter 2:18-21)

Your analogy is flawed. In Bible times the people didn't vote, their rulers were Kings and conquerors. We vote, we choose, it's on us. This is post-Christian America and no one should be surprised at the results.
