HARRISBURG, Pa. — After getting their first long look at John Fetterman in Tuesday night’s Pennsylvania Senate debate, fellow Democrats are second-guessing his decision to appear on stage five months after a stroke — and some question whether he should have remained on the ballot at all.
“He should not have debated. Anyone on his team who agreed to a debate should be fired, or never work again, because that debate may have tanked his campaign,” said Chris Kofinis, a veteran Democratic campaign strategist. “This race was trending toward victory. Now, it’s anyone’s guess what happens.”
Several Democrats who spoke to NBC News, some on the condition of anonymity, said they were shocked by the degree to which Fetterman struggled to communicate clearly, even though he has acknowledged ongoing difficulty in processing what he hears and speaking without dropping words.
Oz himself seemed to poke at Fetterman’s struggles on the debate stage, wondering aloud at one point if he “wasn’t clear enough” for his opponent to “understand” him. Fetterman’s allies have accused critics of boosting “ableist” rhetoric about the candidate, insisting that he is moving along in his recovery just fine and noting that two current Democratic senators have recovered from recent strokes with little concern about their ability to perform the job.
But by Wednesday morning, many Democrats were in a panic over his performance. And there were fresh questions about how transparent Fetterman has been through a months-long recovery that continues to present communication challenges less than two weeks before Election Day.
“Folks are pretty much freaking out on the Dem side,” Khari Mosley, a Pittsburgh-based Democratic consultant and grassroots activist, said via text message. “I think there was false hope he’d thread the needle last night so some wind was taken out of the sails. .... ....

Did anyone else expect Oz and Fetterman to jump up and start singing, “Puttin’ on the Ritz?” Just asking for a friend.
Obama and his minions are the reason for the derailment of our Country. He incited hatred between the races right off the bat and then attacked the citizens living in rural America. And the son of a bitch was never challenged by republicans or anyone else. We’re so fractured now, without the Lord intervening, I can’t see any way to reconcile.

Next, they will demand sympathy for the party and insist on swapping out for a new candidate, even know they knew from the start that this might happen.

Interviewing for ANY job in America, Oz would have a 99% chance of getting an offer, and creepy hulk Fetterman a 99% chance of being rejected. In his current mental state, Fetterman is just not employable. He should apply for permanent disability and return to his mother's basement.

Almost got away with it in Minnesota. But the fist pumping and chanting at Wellstone’s memorial service was so obviously distasteful and self serving it turned off normal voters who wanted a little more dignity.

Fetterman is a sleaze. He, not others, made the decision to stay in the race, because, he figured he could hide or downplay his disability to represent the people of Pa to their detriment, just so he had another gig for six years to pick up a gubmint paycheck and not have to go back to his parents’ basement to live off of them. His auditory and cognitive issues are no excuse for his hiding his disability. It doesn’t rehabilitate his warped moral code.
Hilarious that they’re putting all their hopes in the BS push polls their propagandists have been putting out.
Meanwhile real pollsters like Robert Cahaly of Trafalgar Group or Rich Baris of Big Data Poll have said Oz overtook Uncle Festerman BEFORE his disastrous debate performance.
I just hope this disaster blows up in Josh Shapiro’s face too.
