Managers for Democratic Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman's campaign released a memo to set the expectations for tomorrow's debate with Mehmet Oz, stating that the doctor is entering the bout with a "huge built-in advantage."
Fetterman, on the other hand, will use a computer to deliver instant closed captioninng during the debate. Instead of responding directly to Oz, Fetterman will read Oz's responses on the screen and then respond
This is due to the lingering effects of a stroke that Fetterman suffered in the spring. His wife, Gisele, has claimed that criticizing Fetterman for that use of closed captioning is essentially discriminatory.
She called the comments "ableist" and said that the NBC reporter who interviewed Fetterman, making note of his unique use of closed captioning and inability to listen and responde, should be held accountable for the "disservice that she did to not only my husband, but anyone facing a disability."
The memo was shared by Politico repoter Holly Otterbein.
The statement, written by advisors Rebecca Katz and Brendan McPhillips, makes clear that Oz is a "TV personality," and admits that even prior to Fetterman's stroke that he "wasn't great at debates."
"We'll admit - this isn't John's format. Look no further than the debates from the primary earlier this year. On the other hand, 'Oz is a polished daytime TV host who knows his camera angles and how to craft TV moments,'" the memo says, quoting the Philadelphia Inquirer.
"John is ready to share his vision for Pennsylvania, defend his record, and make the case against Oz. He's going to be talking about his real ideas to help real people. But if we're all being honest, Oz clearly comes into Tuesday night with a huge built-in advantage," the memo says.

In other words, just vote for the slug, no matter how unfit he is.
If voters are stupid enough to lick the guy, knowing he won’t be able to be effective in the Senate, and I guess they get what they asked for.
Stupid auto, correct. Vote, not lick.
What’s in the hoodie besides covering that large lump on the back of his neck? Remember Hillarys cheat sheet notes and electronic devices to help Aid her in the debates against Trump? Surprised she never faced any repercussions from that. Remember the guy I forget what Freeper called him but he was like the fixer, to hide the evidence after the debate was over. Removed the devices and took her notes from the podium
So bizarre.
will there be a device to help him speak coherently
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
FetterWoman is not using a closed captioning system. He is using an answering generating system. Let an Oz staffer see what is on the computer screen and it will be more than what Oz or the moderator says. If he reads his answers, he is a cheater.
In the end analysis, fetterman is proof that all democrats are useful idiots and are the enemy of freedom.
Maybe the demonrats should send a Roomba to stand in for the uncle fester looking moron.
Exactly.
How do people know that someone else isn’t typing and responding to the answers to the debate questions.
Maybe Fetterman should be removed from the ballot. I guess PA doesn’t give a rat’s ass about competency.
It works either way.
There should be a camera on Fetterlump’s device and displayed on a split screen for the entire debate. I don’t trust Democrats. I don’t trust the media.
He’ll resign and then the guv will appoint his wife.
If Fetterman wins on Nov 8 and becomes a US Senator in early January, I can’t wait to see/hear him debate in the Senate. Should be a laugh riot.
But, in reality, he won’t win.
His PC will serve him by providing him expert subject matter info. The moderators will give him plenty of time to “lookup” the perfect response for any question or subject.
And that is the question. Oz people should ask it
