The Senate campaign of recovering stroke victim Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) issued a statement Monday in advance of Tuesday’s debate with Republican Senate nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz downplaying expectations for Fetterman’s performance while offering a ready-made excuse for any failings by the brain-damaged candidate: Human error by closed-caption transcribers that were demanded by Fetterman.
The statement also says, “We’ll admit — this isn’t John’s format … if we’re all being honest, Oz clearly comes into Tuesday night with a huge built-in advantage.”
Recent polls show the race to be a dead heat, however a sketchy CNN poll released Monday gives Fetterman a six point lead over Oz.

You don’t argue an explanation before the fact. It looks calculated and disingenuous, like failure is expected. But of course it totally is.
Fetterman will not just be having the debate questions transcribed for him, he will also be getting what Dr. Oz says. Oz needs to see exactly how his own words are being presented to Fetterman, as well as whether someone is feeding answers to Fetterman.
If Oz does not have the exact same display made available to him, then it's possible that his own words will be improperly transcribed for Fetterman, giving the Fetterman campaign an excuse after the debate to explain away "gaffes" and "misstatements" on bad transcription errors.

There has to be a few maneuvers that Oz can incorporate to make Fetterman look ridiculous, and that should be the goal.
More likely, they will have a team of people with issue nuances, facts and statistics at their fingertips, and will simply answer the question for him.
yes, that’s possible that the governor of PA would appoint his wife as senator, if powers that be decided he shouldn’t serve if he wins election.
I have a feeling, as I do with Biden, that both of these guys are sicker than has been publicly disclosed. We will only find out after the fact, the truth of Fetterman’s condition, as we will with Biden as well.

FetterWOMAN wants to use a Closed-Caption monitor during the debates? Fine, but the contents of the monitor are to be shown to EVERYBODY to make sure there are no ‘suggested answers’ included in the translation of the questions.
Part of me believes the Fetterman campaign is setting the bar so low that any coherent repetition of a talking point at any point in the debate will have to be lauded as a moment of sheer brilliance because he is that bad off, and part of my thinks this is a setup and he isn’t particularly diminished so when he speaks in full sentences for several minutes amd his “remarkable recovery” will be all the news will allow to report.

I think we should count ourselves lucky that Fetterman is actually going through with this debate at all. Oz was wise to give whatever concessions would force Fetterman to debate.
Fetterman has zero curb appeal - even hard core Democrats won’t be voting for him because of his curb appeal. They will vote for him because he is the Democrat and they will vote Democrat, regardless of anything.
Yes, he will get sympathy votes, but almost exclusively from these Democrats who would have voted for him anyway.
There is zero chance that Republicans will cross over and vote for Fetterman - he simply does not have that kind of curb appeal.
Same with Independents. Independents need some reason to vote for a candidate. Either there is curb appeal, or they vote on issues. The issues strongly favor Republicans.
I think the debate is going to be a train wreck for Fetterman. Sure people will feel sorry for him, but this is like sports fans wanting a beloved but injured player to play for their team in the super bowl - non-Democrat voters aren’t that stupid.

Not to pray for anything bad to happen, but I pray that all of the deceptions be revealed 100%. IF he is too sick, let it be revealed without ambiguity.
