Vanity: Biden in a Semiconductor Battle with China
Vanity ^

Posted on 10/14/2022 6:06:44 PM PDT by TigerClaws

Not seeing any 'real news' on this yet:

Jordan Schneider @jordanschnyc Every American executive and engineer working in China’s semiconductor manufacturing industry resigned yesterday, paralyzing Chinese manufacturing overnight.

One round of sanctions from Biden did more damage than all four years of performative sanctioning under Trump.

Although American semiconductor exporters had to apply for licenses during the Trump years, licenses were approved within a month.

With the new Biden sanctions, all American suppliers of IP blocks, components, and services departed overnight —— thus cutting off all service [to China].

Jordan Schneider @jordanschnyc · 13h THREAD: The US government's new export controls are wreaking havoc on China's chip industry.

New rules around "US persons" are driving an "industry-wide decapitation." Jordan Schneider @jordanschnyc · 13h The following is the translation of a thread posted earlier this week by @lidangzzz .

"Lots of people don’t know what happened yesterday.

To put it simply, Biden has forced all Americans working in China to pick between quitting their jobs and losing American citizenship. Jordan Schneider @jordanschnyc · 13h Every American executive and engineer working in China’s semiconductor manufacturing industry resigned yesterday, paralyzing Chinese manufacturing overnight.

Long story short, every advanced node semiconductor company is currently facing comprehensive supply cut-off, resignations from all American staff, and immediate operations paralysis.

This is what annihilation looks like: China’s semiconductor manufacturing industry was reduced to zero overnight. Complete collapse. No chance of survival.

The only possible explanation is that this major story, and its future ramifications, will bring severe damage to the supposedly “continuously flourishing” semiconductor industry and Chinese national security as a whole.

I saw a youtube video yesterday, guy was interviewing Kyle Bass, interview happened in August of this year.

Kyle said that his sources in the Pentagon had been expecting around 2027 that China would invade Taiwan, now they are expecting it within the next 12 to 24 months.

We are getting ready to go to war.

“Will this be reversed post-November election? Thoughts?”

Congress cannot reverse or over-ride an executive order (separation of powers, co-equal branches, etc.), but it can sue the executive for over-stepping his authority.

Well, I’m too old to get drafted. I can, however, get radiation poisoning.

If so, many will go for the “Klinger” exemption.

“And the suit will go nowhere.”

It would eventually end up in the Supreme Court, after the appropriate federal court of appeals has made its ruling, because one side or the other will seek certiorari.

I doubt SCOTUS will touch it. Kavanaugh may say no.

“I doubt SCOTUS will touch it. Kavanaugh may say no.”

He may not even be a factor. It only takes four justices to grant a petition for certiorari.

An ex-CIA director said our odds of nuclear war are up to 20% now.

Why?

Ukraine?

Great Reset?

Dunno.

Congress can void an executive order by changing substantive law. In this instance, Congress could repeal the legal power to order the sanction involved. That is highly unlikely though due to both politics and strategic interest.
