I would say if a Democrat had a chance in Kansas it would be in the news. Seeing that there is nothing in the news, then that is a good sign in my opinion.

There’s a lot of interesting races around the country that aren’t getting much polling. Flores vs Gonzales in Texas is one. Some internal polls there are showing a neck-and-neck race — far from the media’s portrayal that the race is in the bag for Gonzales. The only official public poll is from July.

I’m thinking that it’s easier for the media to bury their heads in the sand than admit that a hurricane is coming...

I still don’t understand the unhappiness with Brownback. What exactly did he do?

Democrats would like to forget Kansas.

I hated it when I lived there, but now it’s one of my top choices on alternatives to Colorado.

I have been checking regularly local media for polling data on the gubernatorial race, but the only I've seen is the one you mentioned from September showing the incumbent Laura Kelly leading by a very small amount.

Biden is very unpopular here and in the end, will sink Kelly.

BTW, Brownback's economic plan did not fail. It gave hardworking Kansans like me very welcome tax relief (it came at a time in my life when I really, really needed some help -- imagine that, a politician doing something to help middle class taxpayers).

There was a brief period when the revenues were coming in about 4% short (IIRC) of projections, but the Dems and their media allies made it sound as if the state was in bankruptcy. The situation corrected itself in a matter of months.

The Dems and their media allies are trying to connect the R gubernatorial candidate, Derek Schmidt, with Brownback. The Schmidt campaign is connecting Kelly with Biden and Pelosi. I like our chances in November.

One of the republican govenors we had, attempted to cut back on education funding and social benefits for the needy. It upset the entire state so when it was time to vote again, they went with a demoncrat.

This state hasn’t benefitted much by Republican leadership as it should have. The aviation industry still languishes, businesses are still closed with decrepid buildings making the city look like detroit. And there is a major drought so folks aren’t watering their lawns. Grass all over is brown, dry and crispy. Red flag warnings exist for a good part of the state. In the meantime utility bills are through the roof. Nobody can afford to water which intensifys drought. Theres nothing to hold water to the ground and nothing to evaporate to make rain.

Such conditions ebb and flow, but the politicians in charge do nothing to prepare. It doesn’t matter which party is dominant.
