Well, just avoid engaging in the tort of defamation against private citizens and you can’t be sued for defamation. It is an understatement to say the comments were outrageous and sick. Defamation has been a tort for a long time. Any person with two brain cells would never have said what he said. Nor would any person with such defend such statements. “Money” is not the goal - it a punishment. The fact you don’t understand something that basic should prompt you to do some very basic research before forming strong opinions about a subject for which you have apparently no knowledge. I would not accept $1 billion in exchange for what these people were put through by Alex Jones - no person in their right mind would.
The verdict may be excessive but that’s a different matter. He is definitely liable.

It is shocking to see people on FR defending this POS who was persona non grata on this site for years, partly due to his insane assertion that 9-11 was an inside job. He accused parents of dead children of staging the murders and being crisis actors. He is human garbage. Just because human garbage on the left goes unpunished, it doesn’t justify his exploitation of mass shootings for personal gain.
