This is the End of Russia (as we know it!)
Military and History Youtube ^ | October 10, 2022 | Torsten Heinrich M.A.

This is a Youtube video expounding an analysis of the implications of the Ukraine war for Russia, out into the future.

The presenter/author, Torsten Heinrich, makes no claim about who will prevail in the current conflict.

He speaks in a rather careful manner, mentioning sources and listing potential contrary views.

He brings up many interesting points about the problems Russia faces going forward, such as alienation of ethnic minorities and the potential breaking of the unspoken social contract in Russia.

While time is a precious commodity, I found the 29:49 minute presentation well worth while.

Russia is a relic of a time long past and if they hadn’t stolen nuclear secrets from us would have disintegrated ages ago.

Sure, Russia had gained 40,000 square miles of territory in the war. The kill ratio is at least 10-1 in its favor. It just proved yesterday that it absolutely owns the air space and Ukraine's "missile defense" is non-existent.

But, the war means the end of Russia!

This is another example of Russian Derangement Syndrome retarding the mind. It makes one blind to reality just like Trump Derangement Syndrome does.

All of this delusional hatred and insanity must end because it is a danger to the citizens of this country,

Russia just gained about 10 million more people and an area that accounted for 70-80% of Ukraine's GDP. It's now free of any dependence whatsoever on the west and is one of the few nations that has the ability for self-sufficiency.

Anyone believing this propaganda is believing out of pure hatred and not out of logic or reason.

Russia will soon be known as West China.

Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for October 11, 2022

- Russian missile strikes have spanned 2 days, targeting crucial infrastructure;
- Power, water, and communication is suffering outages; - If strikes continue or outages made permanent, a Russian offensive may be underway;
- If strikes relent, Russia retaliated and is warning of further strikes;
- Ukraine is suffering from dwindling arms and ammunition; - It is not a matter of if Ukraine’s offensive ends and Russia’s begins, it’s a matter of when;

Of course this begs the question as why the Democratic Republic of the Congo couldn’t just “steal nuclear secrets” in order to prevent the threat of cultural disintegration. Anyway, you’re way too dismissive of Russia’s staying power. They are no where near as racially divided as the US is with a collection of woke idiots race-baiting 24/7.

It appears much of the infrastructure in the area has been destroyed. It will have to be rebuilt.

Russia is far from independence in manufactured products. They will have to rebuilt their advanced military equipment without western tech, or at much higher prices.

Russian profits from the sale of oil and petro-chemical products will be lower in the future, because of much higher shipping costs (if they sell to Asian markets).

They have just lost lots of skilled manpower leaving Russia because of the war.

Maybe Ukrainian Russians can make up for it? Not as certain as you are.

Your views appear very optimistic to me.

They are no where near as cohesive as the United States. They speak many different languages. The multiple cultures in the stans are much different.

They and the subject peoples have been held together, mostly by force.

Rationalize your feelings all you want.   How about trying to live in the present and face reality as it is now.

Russia might be the junior Nuclear Superpower but for many years, until recently, our Astronauts were hitching rides into space on their Soyuz spacecraft.

That isn't true outside of Mariupol.

Russia now possessed most of the Black Sea coastline and industry that is built off of it and thousands of acres of what was Ukrainian farmland.

The 'stans' aren't part of Russia. They obviously have tight ties, but you can't reason about them as part of Russia.

I would say that Russia is MUCH more culturally cohesive than the USA. There is a baseline of common culture that is shared by most 'Rossyane' (Russian citizens, as opposed to Russian ethnically). Any nation/race/ethnic-specific culture exists in addition to the baseline culture.

About 81% of the Russian Federation are Russian speakers.

That is 81% of 141 million, or 114 million Russian speakers, and 27 million non-Russian speakers.

That seems plenty of room for cultural dissonance.

Of course, if the "stans" gravitate away from Russian ties, that hurts Russia as well.

I buy that 81% of Russian citizens speak Russian as their primary language. There are secondary languages, particularly in the more autonomous republics.

However, I would think that because the Russian language is the official language, and the entire country has mandatory education, I'd think it is more like 99% speak Russian at least as a second language.

You can go to most former Soviet republics (Armenia, Georgia for example) and just speak Russian as a matter of course and people will communicate with you.
