The main reason that this "transgender" stuff is so prevalent today is because society made it fashionable and cool. On top of that, as soon as you identify as the opposite sex, you immediately become the center of attention and you begin to be treated special. For many adolescents, who are going through the most awkward phase of their life, this is like a sugar rush. If Johnny want to put on a dress and call himself Jenny, he is immediately gushed over and everybody says how brave he is to be himself. In my day, Johnny would have gotten his butt kicked by his peers and his teachers would have laughed at him and sent him home to change, but I digress.

Many people, teens especially, are slaves to peer pressure and fashion. How many of us who grew up in the 1970s recoil in horror at the photos of us during those days? The hideous fashions like bell bottoms and platform shoes. The terrible hair styles. That even goes on with todays teens.

The difference is that it is fairly easy to buy a new wardrobe when you grow up and start cutting and styling your hair like a normal person. However, hormone treatments and destructive surgery is irreversible. That we are allowing our very impressible kids to do this is a crime. We are allowing them to destroy their lives forever.
