I recall from German literature the novel „The sufferings of young Werther“ by Johann von Goethe, a story of a young man‘s depression/distorted thinking/logic leading, ultimately, to his suicide.
This story was popular, SO popular it captured the imagination/angst of hundreds of young Germans and other European youth who dressed like Werther, wrote like him, and it got to the point the book was banned and, eventually, the fad wore off.
I described „trans“ as a fad to my almost daughter-in-law a few years ago and she about blew a gasket sputtering, fum-fuh-ing, irrationally spewing random Marxist verbiage at me… former almost DIL. My son woke up. He‘s liberal, but not THAT deluded.
Ultimately, this is a tool for use by globalist Malthusian doctrine adherents.
„Trans“ don‘t breed.
If you look at EVERY policy, procedure, methodology of the globalist left from the perspective of it‘s ALL about „overpopulation“ and control, only then will any of this make sense.
Sure, it COSTS a LOT to „transition“ someone, but even more to raise children.
Sure, post-trans suicidality is at LEAST the same rate as pre-trans suicidality (intent, gesture, completion), but so what. If they‘re THAT messed up in the head, does a globalist state really want to support them? Useless eaters.

When I was in HS, “Catcher in the Rye” was THE book to read, according to our newly minted, very LIBERAL English teacher, right out of college, at the time, ink barely dry on her sheepskin.
She put it on our REQUIRED READING LIST, along with Hemmingway’s “The Sun Also Rises”.

Who in their right mind would think that reading a novel about some teenager trying to get laid and a war veteran that can’t is a good idea to make hormone enraged teenagers read?..................
