Oddly enough, Velma probably has 10 times more rule 34 porn than does rigid Daphne, who just stands around like a mannequin.

Making Velma a lesbian makes about as much sense as making Shaggy or Fred gay.

When they split up in the classic series, Shaggy and Scooby went one way, and Fred, Velma, and Daphne the other. Fred hogged the girls for himself.

One of the later movies had Shaggy and Velma going on a date but it didn’t work out.

Canonical in reference to a work of fiction refers to the officially approved storyline and character background.

For example, the Star Wars novels set after “Return of the Jedi”, (the Thrawn Trilogy and subsequent works, AKA “The Expanded Universe”) were considered by LucasFilm to be part of the Star Wars canon or official storyline. Disney, after it bought the franchise, decided to remove those works from the canon, and renamed it “Star Wars Legends”. Disney then replaced them with a completely different set of events as told in the (subpar) sequel trilogy creating a new canon.
