The same liberal billionaire who’s spending a fortune trying to get the plebeians to eat synthetic beef and quit using fossil fuels is now admitting he can’t force them to adopt eco-extremist habits.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates clapped back at eco-extremists wielding climate change as a “moral crusade” to force people to change their consumption habits. He conceded on the Sept. 29 edition of the Bloomberg Zero podcast that it wasn’t “realistic to say that people are utterly going to change their lifestyle because of concerns about climate.” Host Akshat Rathi had asked Gates if a “social and political revolution" was required to drive people to implement eco-extremist habits in their daily lives. Gates responded by pinpointing a stark reality that’s sure to undercut the revolutionary aspirates of climate activists: “Anyone who says that we will tell people to stop eating meat, or stop wanting to have a nice house, and we’ll just basically change human desires, I think that that’s too difficult.”

I'll always owe a personal debt to Bill Gates for being one of the ones to invent the microcomputer version of BASIC and push it into the ROM's of many cheap home computers to make it easier for us Gen-X programmers to cut our coding teeth in our teens.

But everything else about Gates is scary. The idea that a few people would willingly change the behaviors of average people -- all while claiming the Christians are the religious zealots.

I think he is an unfulfilled billionaire who is looking for some larger meaning for his life. Like many, that involves dictating terms to the rest of us by using his great wealth to promote “causes” instead of finding eternal peace and happiness within himself.

It’s made worse by his personality and profile and most wealthy people in our nation have been corrupted by the left as they seek the approval of “other elites”, academia, and the media.

Vaccines, climate change, biofood, and the list goes on of subjects where very wealthy people or social influencers can buy acceptance and adoration from the left.

It gives him meaning and purpose even as he fails to see the subject(s) as others do.
