Putin supposedly traveled to Siberia this weekend to visit shamans to seek guidance and cast spells to win the war. The trip had been planned for a few weeks. Interesting that Ukraine launched the Kherson drive this weekend while Putin was so far away from Moscow and his generals. Will probably know if Siberia rumors were true tomorrow.

They don’t look so anxious to fight for the Motherland in another country. I’m sure if Mother Russia itself were invaded they’d have a better outlook on serving, and I’d understand and applaud them fighting to save their homes and families. But, invading a fellow-Slavic neighbor for no legitimate reason? Not so much.
For the past 4 or 5 days, AFU has been conducting “Reconnaissance in Force” around Davydiv Brid. The Russians have been claiming they repulsed the “attacks”, but it certainly appeared to indicate an AFU push to expand previous gains in the area, and likely drew reinforcements from the rear, allowing AFU to break through and establish a large flanking force behind them.
Russia has a very large force here, so it’s an extremely high risk move. But high risk can bring high reward. Or significant loss.
