Somebody does want a negotiated settlement to the Ukraine-Russian conflict that prevents an energy driven economic melt down in the EU.

It was looking like cooler heads in the EU might prevail and cut a deal that could get gas flowing to Europe to avert a looming crisis as winter sets in.

Not gonna happen now. The pipelines will almost certainly be down until spring, if ever.

The Biden Admin seems to have maneuvered Russia into the Ukraine adventure and seems to be doing everything possible to prolong the conflict so it is no big stretch assume they did the next logical move to take down Russia and sabotaged the pipelines.
