I was having a 4 way phone text conversation with my father, sister and brother. We were mostly talking about Biden's gaffes from a speech he made earlier in the day. We also mentioned other things that he said or did, from past months and years.
Suddenly, my father informed us that a person reached out to him and asked if he wanted to "mute" the conversation. He didn't say who they were or why he was offering his "muting" services.
Has anyone else had anything like this. We are being spied on, and they don't care that we know they are.
Was it maybe the great comedian Arnold Stanger?

However, I am personally terrified of the immediate future of this nation.
We have a president who openly villianized us. I see clear pattern of an attempt to criminalize anyone who does not support the Democrat party.
The occurrence you describe does NOT sound like anyone was surreptitiously surveilling you.
The LAST THING someone tapping a phone wants to do is let the tapped parties know what is happening.

The person texted my dad. My father lives alone and was alone when this happened.
The whole conversation was all through text, and then my dad said “someone just entered our conversation, and asked if I want this conversation muted.”
That someone, was only seen by my father.
Your father actually saw this unknown party?!
Your father could provide a (brief) physical description of this unknown party?

My dad was the only one who saw the text from this person, even though it popped up in the conversation my siblings and I were having with my father.
What was the phone number or name attached to the message?
Let me get back to you. My dad is still asleep.
Googled the description and found something that suggests it is not a person, but an iPhone feature.

Maybe it was a popup message from the operating system asking if he wanted to mute the conversation and not an intruder.
Years ago, in my Panama years....I picked up the office phone on base, and there was a conversation going on between two American ladies (I assume from base housing). Crossed lines, and a archaic system combined.
I proceeded for about 30 minutes to hear a fantastic amount of gossip while quietly listening in. At some point, I voiced the comment that so-and-so that they were talking about...seemed pretty slutty. Line got real quiet, and I hung up at that point.
Yeah, my dad has an IPhone.

apple iphone do this with IOS 15, if you get a lot of message at once it might ask with a popup “Would you like to temporarily mute this conversation?” with two option, not now and mute.

It is the first time I ever heard of it happening to anyone I personally know. I known all 3 since I was conceived.
