Some might also have "mocked out of existence" the idea that states would attempt to make gas-powered motor cars illegal. And yet...

Nobody's really mocking the reality of a Nanny State run by Bond villains these days. We're dealing with domination by amoral, post-Christian "public servants" who think that jailing people because they use the wrong pronouns to describe a mentally ill child makes sense. Anything is possible.
