Former Attorney General Bill Bar claims the Department of Justice is “getting very close” to gathering enough evidence to indict former President Donald Trump for keeping classified documents at his Florida home.
Prosecutors must decide whether they can “make a technical case” against Trump and sufficient evidence to justify an indictment, Bar told Fox News on Wednesday.
“As I’ve said all along, there are two questions,” the ex-AG said. “Will the government be able to make out a technical case? Will they have evidence by which they could indict somebody on, including him?
“That’s the first question, and I think they’re getting very close to that point, frankly.”

What he means is: “The Justice Department is very close to indicting Trump in a frantic attempt to blunt MAGA momentum in November, whether they have any evidence or not.”

I’d say extraordinarily slim, since it would be the DOJ that would have to prosecute, and fat chance that they will prosecute themselves.
Maybe when Trump gets back in office and appoints a new AG it could happen, if he wises up, ignores McConnell, and appoints someone who is actually loyal this time.

Not much hope of that if it’s a federal indictment. The indictment will happen in the federal district where the ostensible crimes were committed, which would probably be DC, and a change of venue can only happen to another court in the same district, but since it’s DC, there are no other courts to transfer it to.
