The lemming media are at it again. Once a headline generates clicks, they all follow each other, writing about the same topic from the same angles, never digging down to find out what’s really going on. The latest version of this behavior is “quiet quitting.” Once one story using that phrase went viral, just about every media outlet in the world decided to write about it. Google the phrase “quiet quitting” and you’ll see what I mean. That phrase went from nowhere to everywhere in a flash.
Typical of the propaganda media, they are all getting it wrong. CBS writes that it’s about being dissatisfied with the workday existence: “It’s called quiet quitting, where people who may not necessarily be ready to throw in the towel but feel fed up with the seemingly unrewarding hustle culture of the workforce are no longer going that extra mile to impress their bosses.” Note the subtle attack on the basic value of working for a living and trying to get ahead.

Quiet Quitting started during the Covid scam when companies let office workers go home. We have people in our company who have not been seen or heard from, except by email or zoom in over a year.
They have quietly quit but are still drawing a paycheck. It is going to take time to flush them out and fire them.
When did he start?
The world is ever evolving and has been since the beginning of
time. Each generation of humans make changes for good or bad
and life moves on until death do us part.
Enjoy the best of it or bitch, piss and moan as you live out
your time here. We all have choices, actions, until death.
I worked in the top secret community. Since you couldn’t take your work home with you and since they all sent us home I spent four months Sitting home getting paid doing absolutely nothing
If people would take their jobs/careers more seriously then their gross income could go up. This would mean a lot more take home pay.
Correction: Nix what I wrote about take home pay. It would mean a lot more Medicare taxes (2.9%), Social Security taxes (12.4%), Federal Income taxes, State income taxes, local income taxes, less tax credits (earned income tax credit, child tax credit, deductibility of itemized items, etc), less subsidies (i.e., pandemic stimulus, ObamaCare subsidies, etc), and less hand outs (i.e., food stamps, Medicaid, Section 8, etc). There might be more take home pay, but during the pandemic for many people this proved to have been counterproductive because their real effective tax rates were way over 100%.
This next and last question of mine will probably get a deer-in-the-headlights response from liberals because they fail to understand that government decisions to bully people around often result in unintended consequences. When people see that their real effective tax rates have been way over 100% or might be way over 100%, will they feel more motivated to Quiet Quit their jobs/careers?
A lot of “quiet quitting” began in China, where young people are confronted with high expectations yet low paying jobs with no chance for promotion. So instead of fruitlessly slaving away in the “rat race” of some ‘black’ company, they do the minimum to survive.
“In recent years, a large number of them have embraced ‘lying flat’ (doing the bare minimum to get by), ‘letting it rot’ (making the best of a bad situation), and ‘involution’ (becoming stagnant rather than evolving). These fatalistic movements epitomize young people’s growing rejection of China’s cutthroat education system and work culture in which rewards in exchange for hard work have become increasingly illusory.”
The problem there is so severe that even their government has taken notice. Things like the Chinese mortgage crisis, where many thousands of people bought unfinished property, then when builders ran out of money to finish them, these people stopped paying their mortgages, show another facet to the problem.
Real estate is about 1/4th of the Chinese economy.
And both there and here, when stressed to the point of quitting, the first dream to surrender is having children.
