On a small, unassuming cul-de-sac in Alaska, the mother of two young daughters came face-to-face with the growing phenomenon of adolescent girls identifying as the opposite sex due to a social desire to appear transgender. Critics call the social contagion theory “unfounded” and “absurd.” But for Susie, whose name I’ve changed to protect her family’s privacy, she watched it unfold in her own neighborhood, inside her own home.
After returning to the United States in 2020 from a four-year assignment abroad, Susie’s family settled into a house on a street where two out of the eight girls identified as boys. At the local high school where their daughter would soon attend, at least another 10 girls identified as the opposite sex. Shortly after moving there, Susie’s oldest daughter, who had just turned 15 years old, also said she felt like a boy.
Susie’s daughter was still wearing skirts and makeup. Growing up, she never had "tomboy" tendencies or showed signs of gender confusion. Susie didn’t believe that her daughter’s sudden transgender identity was anything more than a phase, so she and her husband chose not to make any drastic changes, settling on a “wait and see” approach. They wanted to give their daughter time to experience and explore her feelings without giving in to the lie that their daughter was anything but her biological sex.
But every institution surrounding them, from health professionals to the public school, and a local LGBT support group, rushed to validate their daughter’s gender confusion, treating it as real. Worse, they intentionally deceived Susie and her husband, using their daughter’s birth name and female pronouns in official communications while using her made-up name and male pronouns behind closed doors.

Freepers would know to avoid an "LGBT support group". Licensed therapists should also be avoided unless a parent can attend the session. We need rules that schools cannot change the name or sex of a child in their records without parental approval.

You know what the cure to this is? As soon as they want to be a boy, start giving them boy’s chores. If they are a boy, they can mow the lawn, rake leaves, shovel snow, clean the gutters, dig up that nasty weed bush down to the roots, etc.
I guarantee you after a week or two of that, they will want to be girls again.
I doubt it. Alaska is full of very small towns and villages. I see why they didn’t name it.
A friend lives in a village of 400, accessible only by air and boat in summer. They are the big city to most neighboring communities,

This might just be something to get everyone stirred up. I remember reading something like this last year about the school taking over the child with the parents having no say.
Alaska is a BIG place with many very small, isolated communities.
The small (3000 souls), island community I live in, for example has been described as "Maybery RFD with cell phones". 2 bars, 12 churches, Moose, Elks and Sons of Norway.

This stuff is happening everywhere. It is the most absurd thing people can believe. A person who believes that child trannies are a real thing will believe anything they are told. You will never see:
“I believe child trannies are a real thing, but I question the official narrative on COVID-19 vaccines, or
I believe that child trannies are a real thing, but I think that Joe Biden was elected on the basis of massive cheating, and so on”
This stuff is happening. Decades of “I DON’T CARE WHAT IT IS THEY’RE A’DOIN’ SO LONG AS THEY AIN’T A’DOIN’ IT IN MUH FACE” has allowed things to get pretty far out there. They are going to do it in your face, no matter how far you bury your head in the sand. We were warned, but talking about capital gains tax cuts is a lot more pleasant.
