Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
ORYX ^ | Since February 24, 2022 and daily | ORYX

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Let me drive through a mine field right between where 2 other vehicles are damaged. Luckily for Ukraine, the RuZZians are so dumb.

“Video of a Russian BMP running over a mine next to two damaged BMPs. A good indication of why Russian troops ride on top of their BMPs.”

It is too bad that the minefield was not covered by direct fire weapons. Those communist troops would have been cut down after dismounting their BMP.

It didn’t look like the airbase attack last week was done by himars as it was said to be out range.

this attack is a bit closer to the front lines. are they saying this is a himar attack?

amazing secondary explosions.

huge supply train disruptions.

it looked like early in the war —there were constant russian air attacks all across the Ukraine. Ukrainian supplies looked like they were being severely disrupted.

Now you don’t see the Ukes suffering these kinds of supply train disruptions. You don’t see reports of Russian planes bombing various western uke cities. or russian planes bombing this or that bridge. Is this because of the censors or because the Russians have backed off their air attacks?

RuZZian helicopters and planes mostly don’t fly over Ukrainian gov controlled territory. They will get shot down. They launch rockets from occupied territory.

Ukraine Situation Report: Bridge Busting Campaign Persists In Kherson
Ukraine is putting the pressure on Russian forces north of the Dnieper River by keeping bridges out of action and strangling supply lines.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-situation-report-bridge-busting-campaign-persists-in-kherson

Excerpts:
According to assessments from the British government and independent defense analysis organizations, the Antonivsky road bridge, which has been a primary target for Ukrainian strikes, was struck again over the weekend rendering it totally unusable for the transportation of military equipment ...

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also confirms the latest attack has now left all three bridges leading into the Kherson region inoperable ... German MP Marcus Faber has said, “10 out of 15 PzH 2000 self-propelled guns that had been given to Kyiv were damaged because of excessive use.” ...

informed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine that only 5 out of 15 PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers are capable of operating,” said Faber. “The cause of the failure is not from Russian fire, but because the Ukrainian army uses them too massively.” ...

Amaël Kotlarski, the infantry weapons editor for Janes, explained that the PzH 2000 was designed to fire about 100 rounds a day, which is a cap that Ukrainian forces have been significantly exceeding due to the demands of combat. The issue certainly raises the question about the sustainability of this conflict as well as the capacity for donated weapons systems to keep up.

Russia’s New S-350 Air Defense System Appears At Base Near Ukraine Border
Russia’s new S-350 Vityaz surface-to-air missile system is now protecting an airbase less than 40 miles from Ukraine.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/russias-new-s-350-air-defense-system-appears-at-base-near-ukraine-border

Excerpts:
Includes a 50N6A fire-control radar, 96L6-TsP acquisition radar, as well as two missile launchers, which could be examples of the 50P6 transporter-erector-launcher (TELs) and/or the very similar 50P6T launcher/loader vehicle ...

located at the Taganrog Air Base (Taganrog Tsentralnyi), near the port city of the same name in Rostov Oblast, on the Sea of Azov ...
The exact missile types available to the S-350 are also currently subject to some debate, although options are based around the 9M96 ...

The basic 9M96 has a range of only around 18 miles, while the extended-range 9M96D can reach targets at 75 miles, with unconfirmed reports suggesting it could perhaps have a range as far as 90 miles ...

Each of the 50P6 series launchers can carry 12 of the 9M96 series missiles. Shorter-range 9M100 missiles are also planned to be integrated, these being intended for point defense out to a range of around 6-9 miles ...

Unlike the basic S-300PS, and the Pantsir that’s previously been used for the defense of Russian airbases, in particular, the S-350 has the advantage of firing missiles optimized for long/medium-range engagements as well as for point defense.

This is ideal for protecting critical infrastructure, which could come under attack from a variety of threats, and potentially from a range of different weapons simultaneously. Reportedly, the S-350 can detect and track up to 40 targets simultaneously while engaging eight of them with two missiles per target.

Engagement radius, 9M96 :

Summary:
Russian troops are slowly gaining ground in Donbas.

Key areas:
- Izyum bridgehead: no changes

- North Donbass area:
further Russian advance near villages Vyyimka-Vesele-Bilogorivka, village Berestove captured by Russian troops

- Donetsk West: small advances towards Vodyane -
Russian troops advanced to road M-30

- Kherson bridgehead: no changes.

1. Kharkiv: No changes. Russian sources claim that Russian troops took control of village Udy near the border.

••North artillery sporadic fire.
••Udy is attempt to expanse the buffer to protect Belogrod - 20-30km from border.

2. Izyum bridgehead. No changes.
••Two attacks in same area. No Orc joy.

3. North Donbass: further Russian advance near villages Vyyimka-Vesele-Bilogorivka, village Berestove captured by Russian troops.

••Things no going well for UA. Veslse and Vyimka salient thrusts has been across open fields. Lost control of the ridge and are retreating into the valley to the west. A relatively difficult area to defend and the will have to retreat to the next ridge.

••Looks like Orc troops are regrouping - a tactical pause.

••South looks like just probing attacks, nothing major.

4. West of Donetsk:
Russian troops gained control of the area inside road M-30.

••Pisky: Orcs control junction west of Pisky also area inside M30 road. UA troops likely retreated to other side of the M30. Dangerous to UA which has had engineered defense penetrated, looks promising for Orcs. Slowly opening up opportunity for further advances.

5. Vugledar - Velyka Novosilka - Gulyapole stretch of frontline: renewed Russian attacks.

••Northward and westerly attacks toward Vugledar by the 155th NB. Same for airborne units - motivated, but not enough equipment to have an advantage.

••155th NB is motivated light infantry with no strong advantages over UA troops.

6. Kherson bridgehead: No changes.
••Attacks in the Crimea while spectacular, will not change anything; the Orcs will overcome, diversify and come up with new strategies.
••Russian command has lost the initiative on Kherson bridgehead not because UA Command did anything great, but because the destruction of Orc logistics by HIMARS.

••This shows the UA Command hopes to win the war: by using western equipment, not by quality of command, of training, etc. Very delusional thinking.

••Orcs on defensive after losing initiative and will go more and more on defensive here as their supply situation worsens and as UA troops/command continues attacking bridges. Pontoon bridges and ferries simply cannot move the high volume of supplies and ammo needed to sustain them as they rely on quantity for artillery shells.

••The best way to supply the high volume of artillery shells and the supplies is by railroad - the situation of the rail condition is not clear, other than it has been damaged and has been under some sort of repair. Rail is even more important to Orcs than the bridges.

“PzH 2000 was designed to fire about 100 rounds a day”

I have no military background. (Salutes to all Americans who have served!)

But 100 rounds a day seems a bad design.

Russian Military Installations In Crimea Explode
The latest incidents come exactly a week after mysterious explosions destroyed several aircraft at the Saki Air Base on Crimea.
https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/russian-military-installations-in-crimea-explode

Excerpts:
(Strike#1) Shortly after 6 a.m. local time, explosions rocked an ammunition dump at a military unit in the Dzhankoi region in the north of Crimea, apparently damaging key railroad tracks and an electrical substation, Russian media outlets reported ...

The area is about 30 miles from occupied Kherson and is an important railhead for Russian supplies ...

(Strike#2) Russian media reported that a military air field at Hvardeyskye, about 35 miles southwest of Dzhankoi, was also on fire. Christo Grozev, lead investigator for Bellingcat, said in a Tuesday morning Tweet that the base “housed 12 SU-24М and 12 SU-25СМ planes and was integrated with the Russian Navy.” ...

So far, the U.S. has only provided Ukraine with an unpublicized amount of M31 rockets with 200-pound class unitary warheads, which are GPS/INS guided and can hit targets at a distance of around 43 miles (70 kilometers.) ...

As a result, speculation has run rampant about what has been used in these attacks, running from smaller, locally operated, armed drones, to special operations sabotage raids like the ones carried about by the Shaman Battalion - which we profiled here - to the possibility that Ukraine has secretly fielded its own ballistic missile system.

Ukrainian forces, or those loyal to Ukraine, have used small drones in a high-profile attack in Crimea against the Black Sea Fleet headquarters before all this started, at the time we said this was just a harbinger of things to come. Ukraine also possesses an off-the-shelf long-range precision drone attack capability that could be the culprit here. We just don’t know.
