The Silence of DeSantis – Florida Governor Ducks Media Appearances, Records Statements, Seeking to Avoid Questions About Trump Raid
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | August 10, 2022 | Sundance

Posted on 08/11/2022 8:56:38 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

We are here because we discuss uncomfortable truths. We accept things as they are, and not as we would wish them to be.

Since the original innocuous tweet 48 hours ago, from a private account, which did not even use the name “Trump,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been absolutely silent about the illicit FBI raid on the home of Florida citizen and former President Donald J Trump. DeSantis is showing us all who he really is; but are you willing to accept it?

The raid on President Trump’s home is a moment for all to stand and take a position. On the day after the raid, much like the entire DC Decepticon establishment, Ron DeSantis hid in the bunker and kept quiet. No tweets. No appearances. Nothing that would create a situation where he would have to enter this ‘time of choosing.’ This is what politicians do. This is what Nikki Haley does. Avoiding controversy is not what war time leaders do.

On the second day after the raid, again with the politics of the issue as the dominating consideration, DeSantis releases a recording of a statement as Florida schools begin to open for the fall semester. Again, avoiding any situation where he would be asked to take a position on the raid. Please take note and pay attention. These are the moments that matter, the examples that show the true intents and motives of political leaders.

DeSantis is doing what he has been advised to do.

The silence of DeSantis is deafening.

DeSantis’ supporters, cheerleaders, GOPe promoters and sycophants will ignore it, but deep in their psyche they know what I am saying is true.

Ron DeSantis is a good governor for the state of Florida and has many attributes that make him important for a host of reasons, but this is not a war-time general. Ron DeSantis is a politician.

Accept things as they are, not as you would wish them to be. Because this is the same man that many people would select to face the greatest enemy to our republic. DeSantis is showing us right now that he does not possess the courage, desire in scale, or ability to fight the enemy we face in this battle.

DeSantis is a good finisher, a good maintainer, a good and solid ally who operates well when surrounded by the fortune of an aligned legislative body; but he is not yet the weapon that can stop the corrupt UniParty enemy within our republic.

There are moments that show the character of the politicians in the club apparatus. The pathetic and embarrassing Ted Cruz speech at the 2016 RNC nominating convention was one of those moments. The response, or lack thereof, to an illegitimate FBI raid on the personal home of the leader of the republican party is yet another.

Accept things as they are, you will be far less disappointed later on.

marshall troops and head to dc

anything else is considered weak

That's a lot of action to take for a Governor of a State, don't you think? Perhaps you want DeSantis to provoke a State v. Fed war without all the facts? I expect DeSantis is doing what all good lawyers do……research and facts. I'm sorry he disappointed you by not being a dictator but I'd prefer he do things the right way. By the way, circular firing squads are of no use to us.

So you’re happy with nothing? I wouldn’t want you on my side in a really good fight.

I disagree. It’s not his fight. There is also some portion of the future spectrum of possibilities that DeSantis and Trump will compete for the nomination. DeSantis is a mere governor. Arrayed against Trump is the full force of the Fed gov’t which is working in any number of guises and agencies working to dirty up Trump. There are already any number of loud voices speaking out, at the Federal level, against the MAL raid. I don’t see what DeSantis might have to add that would in any way be functional. He made a statement, he has a state to run. Meanwhile, if Trump escapes whatever from this current effort as he has with prior efforts, it benefits DeSantis not at all.

For DeSantis, this falls under my classification of “NPG”. No Possible Gain.

Nothing? He told us his thoughts. His AG is out there giving us their position. What LEGALLY do you want him to do right now? The things you listed are not legal without legal justification.

As far as being on “your side - that's okay, you'd go off half-cocked and get us both killed.

I could agree with you if it happened in Kansas. But it happened at Mars Lago that happens to be Ron‘s backyard. I see nothing it’s a lovely day in Florida. Oh those tanks coming down the street ignore them. They’re on the way to Kansas.

“For DeSantis, this falls under my classification of “NPG”. No Possible Gain.”

You mean, after one of the most outrageous tyrannical events in American history where the Constitution was shredded, you think that DeSantis should not say much. It happened in his state while he was governor, an act of war against the people of the United States.

His possible gain would be that he is a warrior who is unafraid to engage in combat. But no. He needs to preen, and stay above the fray. Pathetic.

Yep - couldn't agree more.

Governor DeSantis is where he belongs for now doing a phenomenal job. Don't let the demon-commies instigate turmoil among our (TRUE AMERICANS) ranks.

"By the way, who the he!! is SUNDANCE?"

Sundance is smart, this article is dumb. It happens.

He's done good work for the few years I've read his stuff. He is long on details and is very good at timeline analysis. A bit full of himself and has some recurring techniques (' We accept things as they are, and not...blah, blah') that I'm tiring of, but generally a good man.

If that type of thing is in the cards, DeSantis’ participation or non-participation will not change things one iota.

I was gonna say, sounds like DeSantis went as far in push back on this as others, generally—no words minced in that tweet. Otherwise, does he really have more to say? Legally, he wasn’t in a position to stop it, even had he caught wind that it was happening.

Releasing a recorded message just sounds like what a pol does when taking an August vacay.

Oh, so you are mind reader too.

Yes. However, I'm reading yours now, and all I'm reading from it is a turnip slowly mouldering in a dumpster.

DeSantis spoke up right away when it happened. To talk about it more now is weakness.
