Joetato has three choices now.
He can come out and try to maintain the fiction that he didn’t know it was going to happen, which makes him look even more incompetent, and condemn the action, demand an investigation and fire Garland. Which will make him look weak and incompetent to his base.
He can say he didn’t know and support it fully which makes him look incompetent and a thug dictator.
He can flip-flop and say he did know, makes him look the liar and a fool, and approved of it. Making him look like a vindictive thug dictator.
Possible fourth option. He ignores it and refuses to say anything about it. Makes him look like a pants-pooping dementia patient.
