By the end of the year, Reinhart had resigned his post in the Southern District of Florida. Within days, on Jan. 2, 2008, he was hired to represent several of Epstein’s accused accomplices who would later, like Epstein, receive federal immunity for allegedly trafficking underage girls. Wait, I'm confused. If Reinhart resigned his judgeship in 2007, how did he sign the Trump search warrant in 2022?

I understood it to say he resigned from the US Attorney’s office in 2008. He subsequently became a Federal magistrate.

Yup. Lousy excerpt. I’m on my way out the door and will have to look into it later.
Bump.

He was an Assistant US Attorney in 2007.

US Magistrate Judges are *not* Article III judges.
Not appointed by the POTUS.
Not confirmed by the Senate.
They sign virtually all federal warrants.
How does a USMJ not kick an application for a search warrant on a *former POTUS* upstairs to a real judge? 😒
