Seen it. Why as one of Polish heritage I welcome Ukrainians but am still a bit wary of them, especially any that proclaim Bandera is a hero.
Another good one WESTFRONT 1918.
It begins in the civil war. Josey refused to turn in his guns to the Union troops.
I do like movies like that that do paint the other side in a human light. Das Boot is another one.
Could never make that movie today.
Absolutely, in every remake as well.
If you like leadership, the Starship Troopers Trillogy is genius and it was so close the real world experience I had in the 82d my first tour from 74-77.
I saw the made for TV version with Lee Marvin. It shows Ira Hays dying when falling drunk into an almost empty irrigation ditch.
I remember seeing this way back in 1960.

The culture of the German’s and Italian’s was very similar to those Americans; the Slavic races were not as bad the Japanese culture. Fighting people surrender saved countless lives....
Lone Wadi would be gay, granny would be a tranny, and 10 Bears would be a cuck.
Thank you for your service, FRiend, and it is funny you say that-my wife and I had been on vacation last week and stayed at a place with cable TV (which we don’t have) and I saw the movie Starship Troopers and began to watch it. (didn’t finish, it was late)
You are referring to the books, not the movie I presume? I only see one book by Heinlein, are there more?
In the Pacific, when they showed the LVT going out the bow doors of an LST that instantly brought me back over 50 years to, as a boat group officer, leading a wave of LVT-P5’s for a practice landing in Subic Bay Philippines.
My son was welcomed to the Marine Corps by a family friend who landed by LVT the morning of the first day on Tarawa.
Wow, that’s quite an honor. Thanks for sharing that.
My Dad’s best friend was killed on Tarawa. Still MIA. Jap artillery.
RIGHT! Father Goose had NOTHING to do with coast watchers etc. Right?
Been stupid long? Or are you still working on it?
You ought to hear my wifes friend who’s relatives were killed as a result of those bastards.
She says that both the Russians and Ukrainians killed more people in less time than the Germans did for no reason other than what the Germans excuses were.
It’s an interesting period for Eastwood. Transitioning from the Don Siegel directed films to directing himself.
