There is a great deal of consternation and harrumphing about Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. Many in the US are against it as China was issued a number of veiled and not so veiled threats, including shooting down her aircraft. Biden didn’t even raise an eyebrow in response, which I found curious.
Recently Biden allegedly spent two hours talking to Xi.
“I would fully expect that, as part of the president’s conversation, that tensions in the South China Sea will come up, as they have routinely with respect to China’s excessive maritime claims that aren’t backed up by international law, by their coercive and aggressive behavior towards — towards nations that border on the sea or are in the South China Sea. And I fully expect that that will — that will come up,” he said.Big talk, but it’s all talk. The transcript of the call was not released, and I think I know why. I think this whole thing is being staged.
It’s all theater.

He could be seen as greenlighting the invasion of Taiwan by China, but he really was signaling that the US won’t interfere in China’s plans for Taiwan one way or the other. I suspect Biden already told Xi the same (don’t forget that China’s investment in the Biden’s).
On Twitter many conservatives are concerned about democrats wanting a war. That’s the whole idea. IMO it’s all been planned and this is how it goes:

Nancy Pelosi returns to America waving to the accolades of faux patriots. It will cause a major puke epidemic.
Nancy got what she wanted, insider information for her husband who wants to do electronic chip industry stock trades.
Of course it is.
If President Trump pulled this kind of dangerous stunt, Boinkalong Cassidy would really have some stories to tell that were “related” to her by friends and family members about President Trump trying to grab the plane’s controls so he could bomb Red China.
If Nancy went to Beijing to pick up her payoff from China for her hard work over the past three years or so, a few suspicious eyebrows might be raised. If she picks it up in Taiwan, under cover of a manufactured outrage by the Chinese for a distraction, the media will make sure she's praised as a "brave official," rather than a bagwoman. Easy peasy.
I wonder what percent "The Big Guy" gets.
When I worked for United Press, we called this “a spontaneous paid demonstration.”

Winks all around, between Xi, Biden and Pelosi.

Just like Dems wasting their money on losing candidates, I’m glad to see China wasted all that energy and weaponry in their threat demonstration.
Except Xi is in real trouble and this will cause China to lose face.
Xi is a madman and would not agree to anything that would cause him to lose face. He’s already on thin ice.
For Pelosi and the administration this is all politics to build on Biden’s winning streak (according to the media).
I am not certain that is true for China who now appears to have lost “face” on the international stage.
I can’t cheer for anyone in this....
Newt Gingrich went to Taiwan too.
The Chinese were just as pissed off and threatening.
He first went to China and they warned him not to go to Taiwan.
Instead of going directly to Taiwan as planned Newt first went to Japan then Taiwan.
Really nothing new here with Pelosi.
