If you buy an ICE vehicle now, there is no reason why you cannot keep it going for 20+ years if you maintain it well.
If you are outside the sunbelt, you can keep certain cars going indefinitely.
It is time to go full-Cuba on this.

Have you not noticed all those oh so very Green European countries suddenly restarting their coal fired generating plants?
Eventually reality triumphs over irrational agendas.
When “Green” subsidies fail to pay more than a strong economy support for the subsidies will subside.
Gas/ICE are not going away this century.
