The invincible ignorance of the green agenda was laid bare earlier this week in Spain when, after having already started a forest fire this summer, an exponentially worse blaze was kindled by a company planting trees.
Land Life is a reforestation company based out of the Netherlands that embarks on projects around the world in the name of creating carbon offsets by planting trees in an attempt to counterbalance the impact of fossil fuel usage on the climate.
Their boast of an innovative business approach utilizing blockchain technology to drive solutions for land restoration was nothing short of disastrous Monday when their project ignited nearly 35,000 acres of forest.
In a statement released by CEOs Rebekah Braswell and Tjeerd Anema Thursday, Land Life took the blame for starting the fire on July 18 within Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon, an autonomous community within Spain. “The fire started while one of our contractors was using a retro-spider excavator to prepare the soil to plant trees later this winter.”
