WhoTF is newsgauard and why should they matter?
All so-called “fact checkers” are just leftist operatives. Many here have fallen for “fact checker” lies when it comes to “Covid” or Ukraine. Facebook has admitted in a sworn pleading in Federal court (the Stossel libel case) that “fact checkers” only express opinions. For those who don’t know, in a libel case the truth of facts asserted is a complete defense. Facebook can’t make that claim with respect to its “fact checkers”, so it asserts the fact checkers are expressing matters of opinion, which is a defense under certain conditions. BTW, there are several main “fact checking” organizations that are used as contractors by the tech media/MSM.
NewsGuard is a browser extension that rates news sites based on how accurate or inaccurate their reporting is. But of course they define the standards. So you can think of them as self-appointed internet censors.
For example, they believe in man-made climate change. So if a website publishes an article that questions climate change, that site will get a low rating because of “misinformation”. And if should you visit that site, a warning message would pop up.
The really scary thing is that many libraries and schools are now using NewsGuard.
