A leftist economist connected to liberal billionaire George Soros claimed that the Wuhan COVID-19 virus actually originated in a U.S. lab, feeding Communist Chinese anti-American propaganda.
Columbia University Center for Sustainable Development Director Jeffrey Sachs decried the U.S. government’s “very harsh line against China” during a talk at the Madrid-based GATE Center June 15. “I’m pretty convinced [COVID-19] came out of U.S. lab biotechnology, not out of nature — Just to mention after two years of intensive work on this. So it’s a blunder in my view of [U.S.] biotech, not an accident of a natural spillover,” Sachs said.
Sachs’s comments squarely align with Chinese propaganda on COVID-19’s origins. The argument that COVID-19 originated in the U.S. is not just “provocative”; it’s the same argument that China has hammered for months. China Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying even posted Sachs’s GATE center comments on Twitter. Hua tweeted in a thread: “Given the heavy human and economic toll taken by the virus, don't we owe it to the millions of lives lost to have a thorough investigation into US labs?”

This guy... Jeffrey Sachs... is also the guy pretty much functioning as pope in Antipope Francis’ dotage. Seriously, he practically wrote much of “Laudatamus Si,” Antipope Francis’s most famous and most influential encyclical.
Effective propaganda has a kernel of truth. It would not surprise me at all. It may not be true, but it would not surprise me.
The real problem is that our government is now just as apt to tell us a lie as is the Chinese government.

All true. SARS-COV-2 may have been initially released from the Wuhan lab, but the U.S. was responsible for its design -- i.e., for the gain of function research that made the pathogen what it was. That research was done in the U.S., by Americans, not by the ChiComs.
People may not want to believe this, but it is true nevertheless.
I don’t disagree with the origin. I disagree with the leak. The virus was leaked from a Chinese lab. The spike protein came from an American lab. It was very likely combined with the corona virus in China. But we taught them to do it. And that is actually known from Fauci emails.
Agreed, but University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill North Carolina would be a good place to start. Cahpel Hill was studying gain of function with several of the people from Wuhan a few years prior to the China outbreak of COVID 19.
