For job seekers out there, I still see COVID vaccine requirement with many employers, esp big corporations. Does anyone have good experience in getting exemption? Thanks and Happy 4th!
I know at least some employers are requiring you to submit your request for exemption—and specific accommodations requested—in the middle of the interview process.
I find that, er, interesting.
A friend of my daughters is a cop. He just got hired by a new department. When he asked about vax, they told him “we don’t worry about that here.”
The department is the second largest in his state.
@9YearLurker
I was recently asked to fill out a form indicating my vax status after the 1st round of interview. I didn’t bother but then I didn’t advance beyond 2nd round.
Back in Nov, a company in FL specifically asked if I got the jab. I asked for exemption and didn’t get beyond 1st round of interview.
Even remote positions want you jabbed!
Companies based out of more conservative states won’t typically require the vaccine. A fair number of companies run by liberals may require it, but if working remotely in a more conservative state, even that moght be negated by state law.
Right now, I am seeing few companies outside of states like California and New York requiring the vaccine.
I think you will be fine.
It can vary significantly by state. For example in Texas, no private employer can mandate any vaccination as a condition for employment. However if the business is directly linked to any kind of federal funding then the fascist Biden regime can withhold funds from that company if it does not impose vaccination as a condition of employment. Also in the state of Texas no state public entity such as a school district is allowed to impose a vaccine mandate on its staff or students. Hospitals and other federal contractors unfortunately can be coerced by the federal government to require vaccination. There are a number of states that fall under the same general set of rules such as Texas. On the opposite end of the spectrum is the People’s Republic of New York were you basically have no rights over your body with regards to private employers. Private woke companies in New York for example are free to do whatever they want. And to the best of my knowledge that insane state is still blocking the use of Covid-19 treatments such as hydroxychloroquine.
The transit agencies in Chicago are all still requiring proof of vax.
They are also falling well short of providing scheduled service, because they can’t get people.
Get a card, tell nobody.
Mexicans buy fake DL, SSN, birth certificates, passports, etc.
My employer provided for medical and religious exemption. I talked to my doctor about the increased risks of certain side effects which had been reported, where I too would be at potential risk. He wrote me a note requesting exemption.
Interestingly, when filling in the company’s online Covid form and applying for a medical exemption, the system never did ask for proof of the exemption. Perhaps this relates to medical privacy issues. Who knows. I have the medical exemption anyway in my back pocket, so to speak.
Depending on what state you live in and what the statutes of that state dictate, your employer may not even have the right to ask about your vaccine status.
I have to see medical people all the time. It annoys me to no end that I still have to wear a mask at all medical buildings of any kind including dentists and eye doctors. It makes my teeth itch that they force me to lie about vax status every time I visit as I assume they will kick me out of the office or do some horrible awful protocol….I despise and resent being forced to lie.
Liberty Counsel is doing a lot of work in that area.

Don’t know what kind of job you are looking for but Home Depot dropped the mandates!! Lowes also no mandates!!
I work for a company that has a vaccine requirement (I got a religious exemption) but I'm high enough up the ladder to know that their hearts really aren't in it. The whole thing is a nuisance for them but as we have a lot of government and defense contracts, our hand are tied so we need to show compliance.
With regard to new hires, it's very much a "check the box" routine. When applicants upload their vaccine cards, the box is checked and the JPEG of the card is applied to the employment record. And that is that. Company doesn't really care if you are really vaccinated or not. They just want to be able to tell our government clients that we are in compliance.
Still, I can't see myself ever taking that route. If I need to find another job and my religious exemption is not good enough, I guess I'll just retire early.
The damn things DO NOT WORK, not only do they not work you become a spreader what the hell is wrong with these companies??
My employer still lists it and runs “helpful information” e-mails by us sometimes about vax stations available.
I have laid low by doing virtual last semester (easiest way to disobey the edict, though even virtual were required!). We’ll see what happens for the next.
no offense but I would NOT use an exemption to get out of a terrible medical procedure; I would just NOT apply to ANY company that requires it. Otherwise you’re giving a thumbs up for others to get it, just not you. Make them pay by not applying. Eventually they’ll get the message.
GET A CARD and tell absolutely NO ONE!! They are very easy to come by and reasonably cheap!! The only problem I see with this is if the STUPID employer starts requiring boosters every 5 minutes!!!
Tell them your religion forbids it. If you are denied the job find a lawyer to sue them.
