Haymarket Square is not the ‘heart’ of Downtown Boston.
In fact, I who grew up here would be perplexed at actually trying to define ‘Downtown Boston.’ I think that most would consider it to be the Downtown
Crossing area where below the surface the 2 big subway lines (Orange and
Red) intersect.
You do realize the part of my post (Post 10) that’s in quotes is from the article, right?
I haven’t been in Boston since I was in my late teens - going to Fenway Park a few times for Rex Sox games with my boyfriend at the time.
I would not presume to state what’s in the heart of or what constitutes downtown Boston. I have no desire to go anywhere near there now. 😖
